The WWDR Engineering team builds apps and tools to support our developer community, including the Developer app and developer.apple.com. We are a fast-paced, collaborative group working with the latest AI technologies and are looking for an engineer passionate about creating everything from single pages to entire web applications, including the design, development, and maintenance of our deployment infrastructure. We are looking for a motivated and experienced full-stack software engineer who cares deeply about modern ways to provide services and experiences to support our incredible Apple Developer community. Our ideal candidate is comfortable working at all levels of the stack and has demonstrated expertise in delivering streamlined, high-availability systems. In this role, you will design and develop innovative frontend and backend features for both internal and external web applications, and you are comfortable analyzing business requirements, identifying gaps, and translating them into technical designs. You are proficient in and adhere to the best practices of software development, including code reviews, continuous integration, and automated testing. To deliver complex, high-quality solutions within tight deadlines, you will regularly interact with engineering teams, UI/UX designers, management, and other organizations within Apple. The successful candidate will be a highly skilled communicator who is deeply technical, organized, creative, and passionate about achieving results through strong analytical and critical thinking.
BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or an equivalent degree with at least 7 years of relevant experience.Expert knowledge of HTML, JavaScript/TypeScript, and CSS.Familiarity with backend languages such as Swift, PHP, Ruby, or Go.Proficiency with template engines such as Smarty Templates.Experience with SQL databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.Strong hands-on knowledge in a Unix/Linux environment.Excellent debugging and critical thinking skills.
Comfortable working on highly visible projects in a dynamic and highly collaborative team environment.Experience creating frontend applications with JavaScript libraries such as React or Vue.Experience developing RESTful APIs using design-first principles like OpenAPI.Experience with containerization concepts like Kubernetes, Docker, OpenTelemetry, etc.Understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code process automation using Terraform, Pulumi, or alternatives.
