Job Description

We are looking for an Associate Director of Digital Marketing Analytics to serve as a strategic partner to our clients and internal teams. In this role, you aren't just a producer of reports; you are a consultant who uses data to drive high-level business decisions.

You will provide senior-level analytical leadership for key client engagement, working directly with the Chief Data Officer to elevate our data delivery from simple reporting to strategic counsel and data quality stewardship. The ideal candidate is comfortable \"in the weeds\" of messy data but possesses the executive presence to challenge assumptions and present clear, actionable narratives to stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities for a Associate Director of Digital Marketing Analytics
  • Serve as the senior data voice - participating in strategy meetings and executive-level reporting.
  • Translate complex findings into clear narratives, focusing on the \"so what\" and recommended actions.
  • Anticipate client questions and build trust through consistent, accurate, and well-contextualized insights.
  • Take ownership of data quality across various sources, including third parties and partner agencies.
  • Diagnose tag-level issues and lead conversations to fix data inconsistencies at the source.
  • Establish processes to improve data reliability and catch issues before they become client-facing.
  • Track and interpret KPI trends across website, mobile apps, CRM, digital media, and D2C commerce.
  • Develop benchmarks, goals, and forecasts grounded in first- and third-party research.
  • Build and maintain dashboards (Looker Studio, PowerBI, Tableau) and develop bespoke analytical approaches when off-the-shelf solutions fall short.
  • Explore AI-assisted approaches to automate tasks and improve analysis workflows.
  • Partner with Creative, UX, Strategy, and Tech teams to ensure analytics inform every part of the engagement.
  • Coach junior analysts and account team members on data interpretation and presentation.
Requirements for a Associate Director of Digital Marketing Analytics
  • Experience: 7+ years in a data or analytics role, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead capacity.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong expertise in Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Google Tag Manager (GTM).
  • BI Tools: Expertise in at least one dashboard tool (Looker/Data Studio, Tableau, PowerBI).
  • Communication: Demonstrated experience presenting to and influencing non-technical senior client stakeholders.
  • Data Management: Proven track record of navigating messy or incomplete data environments to improve quality.
  • Domain Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of digital marketing data across web, app, paid media, email, and ecommerce.
Preferred Qualificationsfor a Associate Director of Digital Marketing Analytics
  • Prior agency or consulting experience.
  • Experience in data-rich categories such as Automotive or Retail.
  • Data Engineering: Exposure to ETL processes and tools (e.g., Supermetrics, Fivetran).
  • Experience Analytics: Familiarity with tools like ContentSquare or Quantum Metric.
  • Advanced Tech: Familiarity with CDP platforms and the application of Generative AI in analytics.
