Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated candidate to file and manage claims related to accidents and damages involving Amazon's growing transportation fleet. The Fleet Claims Specialist will be focusing on filing, managing and resolving claims related to damaged ATS assets in addition to program and process improvement. This is an hourly position sitting in Nashville, TN.
Responsibilities will include reviewing assigned claims, contacting the insured and other affected individuals, initiating documentation in the claim handling system, and resolving claims. An ideal candidate brings a background in fleet maintenance and automotive claims handling, with experience managing professional relationships with multiple stakeholders, holding responsible individuals accountable for asset damages and repair costs, and achieving organizational targets. This job will require exceptional communication, interpersonal, and negotiating skills with the ability to work independently.

Key job responsibilities
- Interact with carriers and customers to obtain facts, explain claims processes, and provide high quality service to achieve a positive customer experience
- Plan and conduct investigation to determine liability, bodily injury, and damages
- Assesses actual damages associated with claims and conducts negotiations to settle claims within assigned authority and achieve the best possible outcome.
- Thoroughly document or code the claim file and complete all claim closure and related activities in the assigned claims management system.
- Use claims system to properly document files (resolution strategy, supporting evidence, negotiations, etc.).
- Utilize and navigate various internal and external websites and tools to file and manage claims
- Work effectively with TOM/TEM/Safety/ROC and other stakeholders to maintain a healthy asset pool
- Work with team members to identify carrier caused accidents negatively impacting asset health and availability
- Conduct thorough reviews of damages and determine the applicability of state law and other factors related to the claim.
- Evaluate the financial value of the equipment loss.
- Schedule and coordinate asset repairs with ATS preferred maintenance vendors
- Refer claims to other company units to be advised on as needed (e.g., Legal, Risk, Compliance, Loss Prevention).
A day in the life
Fleet Claims Specialist are part of the ATS Fleet team and report to a Program Manager. A successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to work with cross-functional teams and communicate effectively across all levels of the organization. They will bring analytic skills and use data to drive decisions, effectively communicating insights to others in the organization. Day to Day, the Fleet Claims Specialist is deep diving crashes, communicating with stakeholders, writing whitepapers, and altering processes to eliminate inefficiency.
About the team
Middle Mile Property Damage (MMPD) investigators operate with minimal oversight, international scope and responsibility, and high expectations. We allow our investigators freedom of maneuver, providing the ability to make on-the-ground decisions based on policy, law, and personal discretion.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- High school or equivalent
- Experience in a professional field or military
- 1+ years of claims experience
- 1+ years of professional writing experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of VBA and Excel Macro creation and modification
- Demonstrated success working with carriers and or brokers

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
