Responsibilities
Position Summary
Owns the functionality, performance, and continuous improvement of Workday and related HR technology solutions, serving as the primary functional expert for system processes, integrations, configuration, and data management. Collaborates with the People team, Payroll, IT, vendors, and business leaders to identify needs, define requirements, and deliver technology solutions that support operational and strategic objectives. Leads system enhancements, testing, releases, troubleshooting, and reporting activities while ensuring data integrity, security, and compliance. Drives optimization of workflows, integrations, and user experiences to maximize the effectiveness and value of HR technology investments.
Job Responsibilities
  • Support and optimize Workday functional areas, including Benefits, Compensation, Absence, Payroll, and other People-related processes, through configuration, analysis, project management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert for Workday, supporting Benefits and other functional areas through system configuration, process optimization, vendor integrations, and special projects such as the Annual Open Enrollment cycle.
  • Serve as a technical liaison between third party vendors, internal technical development team, and stakeholders to support ongoing integrations, system enhancements, and operational effectiveness.
  • Monitor integrations output and performance by troubleshooting errors and identifying data trends that require robust solutions.
  • Collaborate with HRIS team and payroll to resolve data discrepancies impacting the vendor integrations, payroll processing cycles, and ongoing operations.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of processes and projects such as requirements, technical file specs, and other project artifacts.
  • Assist with system configuration and conduct unit testing and defect management in support of operational and project tasks.
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and Vendor Testing by augmenting test scenarios accordingly.
  • Partner closely with HRIS, business leaders, and support teams to evaluate end-user needs and recommend system improvements, and optimize business processes and user experience.
  • Lead Workday continuous improvement projects, such as improving processes, workflows, integrations, and data security.
  • Ensure data integrity within the HR management system; generate standard and ad-hoc reports and dashboards as needed.
  • Provide support on Workday releases and updates, which includes researching functionalities, conducting testing, and educating user group on enhancements, as applicable.
  • Research and minimize reported problems or pain points within HRIS system, driving resolutions and recommending corrective actions.
  • Translate business objectives and user needs into clearly written requirements.
  • Develop and deliver knowledge -sharing and training initiatives to enhance Workday expertise across HRIS and other support teams.
  • Coordinate and participate in troubleshooting of reported issues to ensure timely resolution.
  • Independently troubleshoot, analyze, identify, and correct technical problems.
  • Implement testing to meet business requirements and perform functional system testing.
  • Develop and maintain reports and HR metrics that support business processes, providing the organization with data to make business decisions.
  • Responsible for the Company's Security and Safety Management System (SMS) and associated Safety Risk Management and Safety Assurance outputs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Specifics
Qualifications
Required
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 4+ years of professional experience in business systems analysis, solution design and deployment experience.
  • 3+ years of experience administering, configuring, or supporting Workday or similar HRIS platform in a post-implementation environment, including experience within multiple functional areas such as Core HCM, Benefits, Absence, Payroll, Compensation, Reporting, etc.
  • Ability to collaborate in virtual and remote environments.
  • Ability to speak/read/write in English.
  • If hired, must be able to demonstrate that you are authorized to work in the US.

Preferred
  • Experience supporting Workday integrations including EIBs, Core Connectors, Studio, and third-party vendors.
  • Experience developing advanced Workday reports, dashboards, and calculated fields.
  • 3+ years of technical writing and training experience.
  • Workday Pro Certification(s).

Additional Information
Supervisory Responsibility: This is not a supervisory position.
Delegation: In absence, responsibilities delegated to Assistant Director of HRIS.
Authorities: None.
Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, photocopiers, facsimile machines and filing cabinets.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
