Job description

Job Description:
Title: Director, Agile Delivery
Location: Remote - USA, Canada
Reports to: SVP, Engineering
The Role:
As the Director of Agile Delivery, you will own the entire Scrum Master function - building the team, raising the bar on agile excellence, and embedding AI into the way teams plan, build, and ship. Reporting directly to the SVP of Engineering, you'll have a seat at the table where strategy meets execution.
The Impact You Will Have in This Role:
This is a high-impact leadership role for someone who wants to shape how an engineering organization delivers at scale.
Your first priority will be assessing the current Scrum Master roster and strategically positioning them to support and accelerate our highest-growth product areas. You'll match the right coaching talent to the teams that need it most, ensuring our investment in agile leadership directly fuels the products driving the business forward. From there, you'll scale the function, deepen agile maturity across Engineering, and pioneer the use of AI tooling to give every team a competitive edge in how they work.
What You'll Be Doing in This Role:
People Leadership
  • Recruit, onboard, and retain a high-performing team of Scrum Masters across multiple product areas.
  • Coach and develop direct reports through 1:1s, performance reviews, and defined growth plans.
  • Define career ladders and competency frameworks for the Scrum Master discipline.

Agile Practice
  • Own and evolve Engineering's agile standards, playbooks, and ceremonies.
  • Establish metrics for team health, velocity predictability, and delivery throughput.
  • Lead retrospective systems that produce organizational learning, not just team-level insights.

AI Integration
  • Drive adoption of AI tools across Engineering's agile workflows - backlog refinement, sprint planning, retrospective analysis, and dependency tracking.
  • Evaluate and pilot AI-powered tooling; establish standards and guardrails for responsible use.
  • Build AI fluency across the Scrum Master team.

Impediment Removal & Change
  • Identify and resolve systemic blockers across teams and value streams.
  • Partner with Engineering Managers and technical leaders to address structural impediments.

Stakeholder Communication
  • Advise Engineering leadership on agile readiness, team capacity, and delivery risk.
  • Represent the Scrum Master community in Engineering forums and quarterly planning.

Qualifications of this Role:
  • 5+ years as a Scrum Master or Agile Coach, with 3+ years in a people management role.
  • Experience leading teams of 10 or more Scrum Masters.
  • Deep expertise in Scrum, Kanban, and at least one scaled framework - e.g. SAFe.
  • Strong facilitation, coaching, and conflict resolution skills

This position has a starting salary range of $180K - $210K USD / $150K - $180K CAD per year. This is the range we reasonably and in good faith expect to pay for the role at the time of posting. An employee's pay within the range is determined by a number of factors, including relevant skills, education, qualifications, experience, performance, business or organizational needs, and geographic location.
