Job description

Job Title: Agile Coach (6 role)

Job Summary:

Next Generation, Inc., an Equal Opportunity Employer, is seeking six (6) experienced Enterprise Agile Coaches to support enterprise clients undergoing large-scale Agile product transformations. These consultants will work closely with Agile Centers of Excellence (CoE), technology leadership, and product teams to guide organizations in adopting Agile methodologies, improving collaboration, and delivering measurable business outcomes. This is a remote role for NYC. There could be periodic travel to NYC.

This role requires a blend of Agile coaching expertise, facilitation skills, technical knowledge, and change leadership. The Agile Coach will mentor product teams, Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and technical leaders while helping organizations build sustainable Agile practices that align with broader enterprise transformation strategies.

This is a consulting engagement through Next Generation, Inc. supporting enterprise technology environments transitioning to modern Agile product delivery models.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Agile Center of Excellence leadership and enterprise technology teams to develop and execute Agile transformation roadmaps aligned with organizational goals.
    • Serve as a mentor, influencer, and change advocate, helping teams adopt new ways of working and collaborating at the enterprise level.
    • Provide hands-on coaching and support for large-scale Agile product transformation initiatives, helping teams adopt Agile delivery models and improve operational performance.
    • Coach Scrum teams, Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and stakeholders on Agile frameworks such as Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, and other scaled Agile methodologies to build Agile maturity.
    • Facilitate Agile ceremonies, strategic workshops, and training sessions that enable teams and leaders to adopt Agile principles and product-focused practices.
    • Design and deliver training programs, workshops, and hands-on coaching sessions to help teams adopt Agile practices, collaboration models, and technical delivery frameworks.
    • Educate teams on modern engineering and delivery practices including DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, Lean principles, and XP practices such as Test-Driven Development and pair programming.
    • Promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement by embedding Agile retrospectives, feedback loops, and metrics-driven decision-making.
    • Analyze team performance metrics and delivery data to identify improvement opportunities and implement strategies that increase delivery effectiveness.
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams and organizational stakeholders to identify challenges in Agile adoption and provide targeted coaching support.
    • Facilitate alignment and collaboration across product, engineering, and business teams to ensure successful transformation initiatives.
    • Implement Agile best practices, workflows, and delivery metrics across teams and programs.
    • Utilize tools such as Jira, Confluence, Jira Align, and other Atlassian platforms to support Agile process optimization, workflow management, and reporting.
    • Establish and monitor Agile delivery metrics, including team health indicators, velocity, delivery predictability, and transformation progress.

    Key Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in software development or technical delivery roles.
    • At least 8 years of experience in Agile coaching or Agile transformation roles within enterprise environments.
    • Demonstrated success coaching large-scale Agile product transformation initiatives in complex organizations.
    • Professional Agile certifications such as ICP-ACC, ICP-ATF, Certified Scrum Professional (CSP), SAFe Program Consultant (SPC), or similar Agile coaching credentials.
    • Comprehensive expertise in Agile frameworks including Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, and Large-Scale Scrum (LeSS).
    • Strong systems thinking skills with the ability to navigate complex enterprise organizations and align teams with strategic objectives.
    • Experience implementing modern engineering practices including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, DevOps, and DevSecOps methodologies.
    • Exceptional communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence teams and leadership without direct authority.
    • Strong conflict resolution, collaboration, and organizational coaching capabilities.
    • Experience leveraging Agile metrics and performance data to guide coaching decisions and drive measurable improvements.
    • Familiarity with Lean Portfolio Management and product-centric operating models.
    • Knowledge of organizational behavior and change management principles related to large-scale Agile transformations.
    • Proven ability to foster continuous learning, improvement, and high-performing Agile team cultures.
    • Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional development and Agile best practices.
