Tech & Data Program Summer 2027 - Agile Intern

Program Overview

About the Experience

This immersive summer program is designed to accelerate your learning through meaningful project work, mentorship, and real-world exposure to Agile delivery and modern technology practices.

As part of The Hartford's continued investment in AI and advanced analytics, interns will also explore how technologies such as generative AI, automation, and machine learning are transforming business operations, decision-making, and customer experience.


Interns will engage in meaningful work, mentorship, and experience with an emphasis on professional growth and development, and networking opportunities.

This role is a hybrid position in Hartford, CT. Candidates must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship now or in the future.

Depending on your role and project assignments, your experience may include:

  • Work on a cross-functional Agile team, contributing to sprint deliverables and participating in Agile ceremonies such as stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and demos
  • Collaborate with business and technology partners (e.g., underwriting, claims, operations) to understand challenges and translate them into data-driven or technical solutions
  • Analyze data and generate insights using tools such as SQL, Excel, and data visualization platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
  • Leverage AI tools (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT) to enhance productivity, research, and solution development
  • Explore how AI and automation can improve business processes and decision-making
  • Apply structured problem-solving and critical thinking to deliver actionable recommendations

Required Qualifications

  • Undergraduate or graduate students expecting to graduate in May 2028 with a bachelor's or master's degree and a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Desired majors include, but are not limited to: Management Information Systems, Data Analytics, Applied Mathematics, Economics, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Informatics, Statistics, or other STEM-related and/or analytical majors.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn new technologies and approaches
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex problems and develop data-driven solutions
  • Commitment to ethical decision-making and responsible use of data

Experience and exposure to some or all of the following:

  • Familiarity with data analysis tools or programming languages (e.g., SQL, Python, R)
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
  • Exposure to Agile/Scrum frameworks or tools (e.g., Jira, Rally, Trello)
  • Familiarity with generative AI tools (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT) or interest in applying AI to business challenges
  • Basic understanding of statistics, experimentation (A/B testing), or data modeling
  • Exposure to process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma)

Our internship program is designed as a pipeline for future full-time opportunities. High-performing interns may be considered for full-time roles within The Hartford's Technology & Data organization.

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
