Accounting Specialist – Accounts Receivable

Location: San Juan, PR

Work Arrangement: 100% Onsite

Job Type: Full-Time | Temporary Contract

Pay: $17.00 per hour


Position Overview

SGF Global is seeking an Accounting Specialist with strong Accounts Receivable and reconciliation experience to support financial operations in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

This role will be responsible for customer invoicing, payment application, account reconciliations, vendor invoice processing, financial reporting, and monthly close activities. The ideal candidate is analytical, highly organized, comfortable working with Excel and accounting systems, and able to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish.

This is a great opportunity for an accounting professional looking to gain experience across AR, AP, financial analysis, and process improvement.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and issue accurate and timely customer invoices.
  • Manage accounts receivable activities, including monitoring aging and resolving discrepancies.
  • Process deposits and apply customer payments to the appropriate accounts.
  • Reconcile monthly deposit transactions.
  • Perform revenue reconciliations to ensure financial data is complete and accurate.
  • Support monthly accounting close activities, including account reconciliations and reporting.
  • Extract, transform, and analyze financial data for reporting purposes.
  • Process vendor invoices, including applicable tax withholding and proper coding according to the chart of accounts and budget structure.
  • Create new vendor records as requested by internal business units.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Customer Service, and other departments to resolve billing and payment issues.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and leverage automation or AI tools.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in Accounts Receivable or similar accounting functions.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and reconciliation processes.
  • Experience using accounting software.
  • Experience working with CRM systems such as Salesforce or similar platforms.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including:
    • Pivot tables
    • Lookups
    • Data analysis
    • Data transformation
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Fully bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with financial data analysis or business intelligence.
  • Experience with automation or process improvement initiatives.
  • Familiarity with AI tools used for productivity and financial analysis.
  • Experience supporting month-end or year-end close.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced Finance & Accounting environment.
