Overview

The Senior Staff Accountant is both an important and hands-on role that provides full accounting support to external and internal customers.

Job Responsibilities

Prepare and review monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports in accordance with US GAAP.

  • Support month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Analyze manufacturing costs, inventory transactions, and production variances for aluminum casting and extrusion operations.
  • Maintain and reconcile inventory, raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods accounts.
  • Assist with standard costing, cost analysis, and inventory valuation.
  • Assist with year-end physical inventory counts and inventory reconciliation processes.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies.
  • Support external audits, tax filings, and internal control compliance.
  • Monitor capital expenditures and fixed asset accounting.
  • Collaborate with operations, purchasing, production, to ensure accurate financial data.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Review AP/AR transactions and ensure proper accounting treatment.
  • Help improve accounting procedures and reporting processes.
  • Prepare ad hoc financial reports and analysis as requested by management.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in accounting

  • 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of cost accounting and inventory accounting.
  • Experience with GP systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP.
  • CPA or CMA preferred but not required.
  • Detail-oriented with strong attention to accuracy.
