Job Title: Senior Financial Strategy & Corporate Development Analyst
Role Overview
We are seeking a seasoned, high-level Senior Financial Strategy & Corporate Development Analyst to serve as a technical authority on complex financial matters, including M&A transactions and large-scale corporate projects. You will act as a consultant to the leadership team, navigating areas where formal precedents do not exist, and providing the ingenuity required to interpret policy and drive strategic outcomes.
This role requires a rare combination of technical accounting expertise (US GAAP) and high-level financial modeling proficiency. You will be the point person for potential acquisitions, providing critical due diligence support and ensuring the financial integrity of our growth initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
M&A & Corporate Development Support
• Due Diligence: Provide lead finance and accounting support for potential acquisitions and major corporate initiatives. Review complex data room materials to identify financial risks, accounting irregularities, and reporting impacts.
• Financial Modeling: Develop and pressure-test sophisticated financial models to support strategic decision-making. Ensure the accurate presentation of accounting treatments within complex acquisition models.
• Technical Accounting: Advise on highly complex audit and reporting matters, applying US GAAP to navigate ambiguous scenarios where formal guidelines may be lacking.
Leadership & Strategy
• Technical Authority: Make authoritative recommendations on high-stakes, technical financial issues. Act as a resourcefulness expert when formal policy is absent or requires innovative interpretation.
• Mentorship: Supervise, train, and provide guidance to junior staff. Cultivate a culture of financial rigor and excellence across the department.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Financial Reporting and specialized accounting groups to conduct research and deep-dive analyses on special projects and ensure the accuracy of high-level financial statements.
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
• Education: Undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Professional Designation: Active CPA, CFA, or equivalent financial designation is strictly required.
• Experience Baseline: 10 to 15 years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, or audit, with a demonstrated ability to manage complex business projects.
• Analytical Mastery: Proven ability to build and manipulate complex financial models; expert understanding of US GAAP and statutory accounting practices.
Preferred Attributes
• Experience in corporate development or high-stakes audit environments.
• Proven ability to handle ambiguity-the ability to act decisively when formal policy or precedent is absent.
• Excellent executive-level communication skills, with the ability to influence C-suite decision-makers.
