Employees in these roles handle customer service, technical support, or sales calls during hours when most daytime staff are off-duty. This shift is essential for companies that provide 24/7 support to customers in different time zones. 3rd shift workers often receive shift differentials or higher pay rates due to the non-traditional hours.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a 3rd shift call center representative?

To thrive as a 3rd Shift Call Center Representative, you need strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and a high school diploma or equivalent. These skills ensure consistent customer support, accurate issue resolution, and smooth operations during non-standard hours.

What are some unique challenges faced by 3rd shift call center representatives, and how can they be managed effectively?

Working the 3rd shift in a call center can present unique challenges, such as adjusting to an overnight schedule, maintaining energy levels, and balancing personal life. Heartline Staffing, in partnership with Purple Cow Recruiting, is seeking experienced Manual Machinists for full-time, onsite opportunities in Indianapolis, Indiana. These positions are specifically for skilled manual machinists with strong hands-on experience operating manual mills and/or lathes. This is not a CNC-focused opportunity.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Manual Machinist will operate a variety of traditional machining equipment to produce, repair, and finish metal components according to blueprints, technical drawings, dimensions, and specified tolerances. The ideal candidate is comfortable independently setting up and operating manual equipment, performing precision measurements, and completing machining operations in a production or shop environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Set up and operate manual lathes, mills, grinders, and drill presses
• Perform turning, milling, threading, boring, drilling, and grinding operations
• Perform dynamic balancing as required
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications
• Machine and assemble components according to required dimensions and tolerances
• Use precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and other gauges
• Verify dimensions and tolerances throughout the machining process
• Make machine setup adjustments using traditional gauge-based methods
• Operate welding equipment as required, including MIG, TIG, Stick, and Oxy-Acetylene
• Perform metal spray processes as needed
• Document measurements, calculations, and completed work according to company standards
• Troubleshoot machining and mechanical issues in both standard and non-standard situations
• Maintain safe equipment-operation and shop practices
• Work independently while collaborating effectively with other team members

IMPORTANT: CNC-only candidates are not a fit for these openings. The client does not have the training capacity to transition CNC-only machinists to its manual equipment. Candidates must already possess strong hands-on manual mill and/or lathe experience.
