Job Title: Student Success Specialist (Title IV)
Reports To: Director of Whole Child Supports
Contract Length: 194 Days

Primary Job Function:
The Reynoldsburg City Schools Student Success Specialist (Title IV) works closely with the Director of Whole Child Supports to provide comprehensive student support services aligned with Title IV, Part A guidelines. The Student Support Specialist is responsible for developing, coordinating, and implementing programs that promote a well-rounded education, support safe and healthy students, and increase student engagement and success. This position will focus on college and career readiness, student wellness, and access to enrichment opportunities for all students.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in education, school counseling, social work, or a related field
  • Minimum of three years of successful experience working with school-aged students
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and student intervention frameworks
  • Experience supporting college and career readiness, student wellness, or enrichment programming
  • Valid Ohio license appropriate to position (teaching, pupil services, or related credential as applicable)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Five or more years of experience in education, counseling, or student support services
  • Master's degree in school counseling, social work, educational leadership, or related field
  • Experience with community partnership development and coordination of wraparound services
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed practices, mental health supports, and student engagement strategies
  • Experience implementing programs aligned to college and career readiness or service learning
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Primary functions may include the following duties, responsibilities, skills, abilities, and other characteristics. Safe and Healthy Students
  • Support the implementation of school-based programs that promote student mental health, wellness, and positive behavior
  • Assist in coordinating prevention and intervention programs related to bullying, substance abuse, and violence prevention
  • Promote trauma-informed practices and positive school climate initiatives
  • Collaborate with school staff and community providers to connect students and families to appropriate services and supports
  • Support programs that build relationship skills, conflict resolution, and student resilience
  • Assist building teams with Tier 1 and 2 level crises, as needed
Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS)
  • Lead the district PBIS committee and support the district MTSS committee
  • Support members of the building PBIS and MTSS teams
  • Support the implementation of universal, targeted, and intensive interventions for student academic and social-emotional needs
  • Monitor and document student progress related to interventions and support services
  • Collaborate with staff to identify students in need of additional supports and recommend appropriate interventions
  • Maintain accurate records for district, state, and federal reporting requirements
Student Support & Enrichment Programming
  • Develop, implement, and coordinate programs that support a well-rounded education, including college and career awareness, financial literacy, and service learning
  • Collaborate with staff to integrate academic, social-emotional, and enrichment opportunities into the school day
  • Assist in organizing partnerships with community organizations, higher education institutions, and local businesses to expand student opportunities
  • Support initiatives that promote volunteerism, community involvement, and student leadership
Family and Community Engagement
  • Strengthen relationships between school and community partners to support student success
  • Provide outreach and resources to families to support student academic achievement and well-being
  • Coordinate communication between school, families, and community service providers
  • Assist in aligning community-based services with school goals and student needs
  • Develop, plan, and execute programs and activities that promote strong community engagement
College and Career Readiness
  • Support delivery of college and career exploration activities for students
  • Assist students and families with awareness of postsecondary options, financial aid resources, and career pathways
  • Collaborate with school counselors and staff to align programming with district college and career readiness goals
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of:
  • Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) frameworks
  • Title IV, Part A guidelines and federal funding goals
  • Trauma-informed practices, mental health supports, and student engagement strategies
  • College and career readiness frameworks, financial literacy resources, and service-learning models
Skilled in:
  • Developing and coordinating community partnerships and wraparound services
  • Leading committees and supporting building-level teams
  • Effective verbal and written communication with diverse stakeholders, including staff, families, and community partners
  • Maintaining accurate documentation for district, state, and federal reporting requirements
Ability to:
  • Provide targeted interventions and support services to meet diverse student academic and social-emotional needs
  • Assist building teams with Tier 1 and Tier 2 level crises effectively
  • Organize, plan, and execute programs that foster strong family and community engagement
  • Collaborate with school staff to integrate enrichment and postsecondary preparation opportunities into standard programming

Physical Demands - While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak and hear. The employee is required to have dexterity of hands and fingers. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job the incumbent is seated or walking at will and must be able to push, pull, lift and carry over 25 pounds on occasion.
Working Conditions - Generally acceptable working environment with limited exposure to unpleasant conditions. Exposure to such conditions may make the working environment unpleasant or cause discomfort occasionally but has a minor impact on personal safety and/or mental well being.
Driving Requirement - This job description does require driving; however, any employee who chooses or is asked to drive an RCS vehicle for work related community business must receive written annual authorization to do so.
