Job description

Student Worker – ECC Crossing Guard

The Service Learning office and the Early Childhood Center (ECC) are partnering to make Park Ave safer for our preschool program! We are hiring students each semester to serve as Crossing Guards at the ECC Monday thru Friday during the Early Childhood Center's arrival and dismissal times. A portion of the shift will be outdoors, so appropriately dressing for the weather is a must!

Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Applicants must commit to the full semester
  • Complete the provided training
  • Attend every assigned shift
  • Assist ECC families by ensuring a safe crosswalk during arrival and departure times
  • Communication with the ECC Director and Teachers/Staff
  • Assist with small ECC projects, as time allows

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Time management skills
  • Unwavering commitment to attendance
  • Passion for working with children and fostering a positive environment
  • Federal Work Study Recipient (preferred, not required)

The ECC Crossing Guard program provides a fulfilling experience for students interested in any field that requires interacting with the public by enhancing communication and interpersonal skills. This position will allow interactions with the ECC staff, enrolled students and their families.
