Job description

Senior Project Manager – Construction

A growing and well-established commercial general contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead large-scale construction projects throughout Central Ohio. This role is ideal for a driven construction professional who wants to play a key role in company growth while building a long-term path into executive leadership.

This position offers direct exposure to company leadership, involvement in strategic decision-making, and a clear opportunity to grow into a senior leadership role such as Director of Construction or VP of Construction.

The Senior Project Manager will oversee multiple commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. The ideal candidate has strong leadership abilities, excellent client communication skills, and a proven background managing complex projects while mentoring project teams.

This individual will help drive operational excellence, strengthen client relationships, and contribute to the long-term growth strategy of the company.

Responsibilities
  • Lead multiple commercial construction projects simultaneously from kickoff through completion
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, subcontractors, procurement, and overall execution
  • Collaborate closely with superintendents, estimators, owners, architects, and field teams
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients and project stakeholders
  • Identify and mitigate project risks while driving schedule performance and profitability
  • Oversee contract administration, change orders, forecasting, and cost reporting
  • Mentor and develop Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, and project engineers
  • Participate in preconstruction planning, buyout strategy, and operational improvements
  • Support company growth initiatives and contribute to leadership planning
  • Help establish best practices, process improvements, and long-term operational strategy
Qualifications
  • 8+ years of commercial construction project management experience
  • Strong background managing ground-up commercial, industrial, retail, healthcare, education and/or public projects.
  • Proven experience managing large project budgets and complex schedules
  • Ability to lead teams and build strong client relationships
  • Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, or similar construction software
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, contracts, scheduling, and budgeting
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
