This role goes beyond keeping systems running. As IT Infrastructure Director, you will transform infrastructure into a modern, product driven platform that enables engineers, scales AI capabilities, and delivers reliable experiences for the enterprise.You will lead the shift from manual, ticket based work to automated, self service platforms. Partnering closely with Product, Engineering, Security, and Data leaders, you will shape infrastructure that improves speed, resilience, and developer experience.This role is ideal for a leader who enjoys setting strategy, leading teams through change, and turning complex infrastructure into simple, trusted solutions that the business depends on every day.
Key Responsibilities of the Role
Infrastructure as a Product
  • Establish infrastructure services as products with clear customers, roadmaps, success metrics, and lifecycle ownership.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, Security, Data and business leaders to align infrastructure roadmaps to business capabilities, developer experience, and delivery outcomes.
  • Define and track product health using metrics such as reliability, automation coverage, change failure rate, mean time to recovery, and customer experience.
  • Own the engineering and escalation for end-to-end service experience for associates and stakeholders, including endpoints, collaboration tooling, and workplace technology.
  • Shift service delivery from ticket-driven execution to experience driven outcomes, measured by reliability, resolution time, and user satisfaction.

Platform & Automation Strategy
  • Lead the evolution toward platform engineering, enabling teams to provision and operate infrastructure through standardized, API driven, self-service workflows.
  • Champion Infrastructure-as-Code, GitOps, and policy-as-code as the default delivery model across all infrastructure domains.
  • Reduce manual toil by aggressively automating provisioning, patching, compliance, recovery testing, and operational workflows.
  • Ensure infrastructure platforms are prepared to support AI workloads, including data pipelines, model experimentation, secure access to AI services, and responsible AI controls.
  • Continuously evaluate emerging infrastructure, platform, and operational technologies to inform long-term strategy and investment decisions.
  • Partner with engineering and data teams to remove infrastructure friction from AI adoption and experimentation.
  • Drive automation and intelligent operations (AIOps) to improve detection, diagnosis, and remediation of incidents.
  • Own enterprise resilience strategy including disaster recovery, backup, and business continuity-emphasizing automation, repeatability, and continuous validation.
  • Embed security and compliance into platforms through automated baselines, identity-driven access, Zero Trust principles, and continuous monitoring.
  • Partner with IT Security & Compliance to ensure infrastructure controls are preventative, auditable, and scalable.

Management & Leadership
  • Accountable for communicating infrastructure portfolio health, risks, and outcomes to executive stakeholders using clear, outcome-oriented metrics.
  • Build and lead a team of engineering managers, platform leaders, and operations professionals aligned to a modern product operating model.
  • Establish clear ownership boundaries between Run, Grow, and Transform work while continuously reducing Run through automation.
  • Own portfolio-level prioritization and tradeoff decisions across infrastructure products and domains, balancing reliability, speed, cost, and strategic value.
  • Own infrastructure budgets with a focus on cost-to-serve transparency, optimization, and long-term sustainability.
  • Manage vendor relationships as strategic partnerships, balancing reliability, innovation, and cost efficiency.

Required Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field with 6+ years of relevant experience, including 2+ years in people management.
  • Or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field with 8+ years of relevant experience, including 2+ years in people management.
  • Or 10+ years of relevant experience, including 2+ years in people management.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience operating infrastructure using a product or platform operating model.
  • Familiarity with SRE concepts, SLIs/SLOs, and reliability engineering practices.
  • Experience enabling AI, data, or developer platforms at scale.
  • Industry certifications in cloud, automation, security, or platform engineering.
