Job description

IT Infrastructure Engineer
Triumvirate Environmental, one of North America's leading environmental services firms, is seeking an IT Infrastructure Engineer to join our Information Technology team in Somerville, Massachusetts.

This position reports to the Associate Director of IT Operations and is based in our Somerville, Massachusetts corporate office. The role will be fully onsite in Somerville for the first 90 days. Following the onboarding period, employees will transition to a hybrid schedule consisting of 3 days onsite in Somerville, MA and 2 days remote, subject to manager and Human Resources approval.
Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and support multi-site IT infrastructure spanning branch offices, HQ, and Azure to optimize performance, security, and user accessibility.
  • Own and evolve the enterprise network environment, including firewalls, VPNs, switches, and wireless infrastructure, while helping lead a transition toward Zero Trust architecture.
  • Contribute to the administration and advancement of Microsoft 365 and Azure platforms, including Entra ID, Intune, and Defender.
  • Support and maintain on-premises infrastructure, including VMware and enterprise storage environments.
  • Serve as a senior technical escalation resource and mentor junior IT team members.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve infrastructure reliability, scalability, and security posture.

Basic Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise IT infrastructure in multi-site environments
  • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 and Azure technologies, including Entra ID, Intune, and Defender.
  • Hands-on experience with LAN/WAN/wireless networking and network security technologies; Fortinet, Aruba, and Ubiquiti experience preferred.
  • Experience supporting VMware and on-premises infrastructure environments.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to continuous learning.
  • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft, Aruba, or Fortinet are preferred.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
