Position Overview

SUMMARY:

Responsible for architecting, deploying, and maintaining Capital Health's Citrix-based virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) and remote access environment. Ensures secure, high-performance application and desktop delivery across the enterprise. Provide end-user support and problem resolution.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field; or 4 years of hands-on experience with an Enterprise Citrix Infrastructure. Preferred: Advanced certifications in virtualization, Citrix, cloud, or infrastructure management

Experience:

  • 3 years of hands-on IT infrastructure engineering experience,

  • 2 years building, configuring, and supporting Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops in enterprise environments.

  • 2 years administering and troubleshooting VMware infrastructure (vSphere, ESXi, vCenter). Proven experience deploying and managing workloads in Microsoft Azure (e.g., Azure Virtual Desktop, Azure Files, Azure AD).

  • Strong hands-on experience with enterprise storage solutions (e.g., NetApp, Dell EMC, Pure Storage). Familiarity with security, access control, and compliance requirements in regulated industries (e.g., healthcare, finance).

  • Strong analytical skills to assess network and system performance and configuration which will help them determine how various changes will affect the environment. Strong technical troubleshooting skills and be quick to rectify and resolve issues with the Citrix infrastructure. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Special Training:

  • Hands-on experience with VMware vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, templates, snapshots, and VM optimization.

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Azure services, including Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), Azure AD, and Azure Files. Proficient in Windows Server administration (2019 and higher), Active Directory, and Group Policy management

  • Hands-on experience managing and optimizing enterprise storage platforms (SAN/NAS, NetApp, Dell EMC, Pure)

  • Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation for provisioning, patching, and operational efficiency.

  • Familiar with MFA, SSO, conditional access, and Zero Trust security principles for remote access PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS

  • Citrix Certified Professional - Virtualization (CCP-V)

  • Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty VMware Certified Professional - Data Center Virtualization (VCP-DCV) Storage platform certifications (e.g., NetApp, Pure, or Dell EMC)

Mental, Behavioral and Emotional Abilities: Able to manage the daily pressures of the position in a professional manner. Ability to handle the multiple issues without causing any downtime.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Hands-on deployment, management, and optimization of Citrix infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments

  • Directly perform configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Citrix ADC, NetScaler Gateway, and related components

  • Collaborate with cloud teams to implement and support Citrix workloads in Azure and hybrid environments

  • Monitor and analyze system performance, proactively resolving issues with sessions, applications, or network connectivity

  • Automate environment builds, patching, and provisioning using PowerShell or similar tools

  • Apply system upgrades and security updates with minimal disruption to users

  • Coordinate hands-on with storage and virtualization teams for backend performance tuning and capacity management

  • Maintain accurate technical documentation for builds, configurations, and procedures

  • Serve as a tier-3 escalation engineer for Citrix, VMware, and related infrastructure incidents

  • Support upgrades, migrations, and platform transitions across Citrix, Windows Server, VMware, and storage systems

  • Participate in enterprise projects related to VDI modernization, cloud adoption, and infrastructure optimization

  • Assist with audits, vulnerability management, and security remediation activities

  • Evaluate, test, and recommend new technologies to improve performance, automation, and reliability

  • Other duties as assigned
