Senior Infrastructure Engineer – Microsoft 365 (Contract) Quick Details
  • Location: Hybrid in the Bala Cynwyd, PA area

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer with deep expertise across the Microsoft 365 ecosystem. This role will focus on engineering, administration, support, and continuous improvement of Microsoft 365 services, with an emphasis on SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, Entra ID, Microsoft Purview, Microsoft 365 Copilot, and related collaboration and security platforms.

This position serves as the Tier 3 escalation point for complex Microsoft 365 issues while partnering with infrastructure, security, and application teams to improve platform stability, automation, governance, and user experience.

Responsibilities
  • Provide Tier 3 support across Microsoft 365 services.

  • Administer and troubleshoot Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Entra ID, Microsoft Purview, Defender for Microsoft 365, Microsoft 365 Copilot, Viva Suite, and related Microsoft 365 technologies.

  • Support Exchange Online and Hybrid Exchange environments, including mail flow, connectors, transport rules, and hybrid connectivity.

  • Manage Microsoft 365 Copilot licensing, policies, user readiness, adoption, and troubleshooting.

  • Support Dynamics 365, Microsoft Graph, Power Platform, and SaaS integrations.

  • Administer multi-tenant Microsoft 365 environments, including cross-tenant collaboration, B2B access, and identity governance.

  • Support tenant-to-tenant migrations, coexistence planning, collaboration migrations, and post-migration remediation.

  • Develop PowerShell automation and Microsoft Graph solutions to improve operational efficiency.

  • Configure and maintain Conditional Access, DLP, retention policies, sensitivity labels, eDiscovery, Microsoft Purview, and Defender for Microsoft 365.

  • Perform root cause analysis and implement long-term solutions for recurring issues.

  • Create technical documentation, SOPs, and knowledge base articles.

  • Partner with Infrastructure, Security, Operations, and Application teams on enterprise initiatives.

  • Drive governance, modernization, and continuous improvement across the Microsoft 365 environment.

Required Qualifications
  • 8+ years of Microsoft infrastructure or Microsoft 365 engineering experience.

  • Strong hands-on experience administering Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Entra ID, Microsoft Purview, Defender for Microsoft 365, and Microsoft 365 Copilot.

  • Experience supporting Exchange Online and Hybrid Exchange environments.

  • Experience with multi-tenant Microsoft 365 administration and cross-tenant collaboration.

  • Experience supporting tenant-to-tenant migrations and coexistence scenarios.

  • Strong PowerShell scripting and Microsoft Graph experience.

  • Experience with Conditional Access, identity governance, MFA, enterprise applications, OAuth, SAML, and modern authentication.

  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and root cause analysis skills.

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating across technical teams.
