Job description

The Hybrid Cloud Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting hybrid cloud environments across VMware and Microsoft Azure platforms. This role focuses on maintaining secure, scalable, and highly available infrastructure by managing virtualized hosting environments, cloud resources, networking, storage, backup solutions, and disaster recovery capabilities. This is a contract-to-hire position and requires onsite work at the client location in Fort Collins, Colorado.


  • Administer and optimize VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, and related hosting infrastructure.
  • Deploy, configure, and maintain Microsoft Azure services, including virtual machines, networking, storage, and identity management.
  • Support hybrid cloud integrations between on-premises VMware environments and Azure.
  • Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity to ensure operational excellence.
  • Implement infrastructure automation using PowerShell, Azure Automation, ARM/Bicep, or Terraform.
  • Manage backup, recovery, security, and compliance controls across hosting and cloud platforms.
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure issues and provide root cause analysis for service disruptions.
  • Collaborate with engineering, security, and application teams to deliver cloud and hosting solutions.

Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting VMware infrastructure in enterprise environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services and administration.
  • Knowledge of networking, storage, virtualization, and disaster recovery concepts.
  • Experience with infrastructure automation and scripting.
  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Certifications preferred but not required include Azure Admin Associate, Azure Solutions Architect, VMWare Certified Professional (VCP) or relevant cloud, virtualization and infrastructure certification.
  • A valid driver’s license and proof of vehicle insurance will be required
  • Legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
  • Must demonstrate a “can-do” attitude
