Job description

Senior Infrastructure Engineer
Hybrid (3 Days/Week Onsite)
Position Summary
Our client is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to lead and architect enterprise networking and infrastructure initiatives across a hybrid environment. This role will serve as the organization's technical expert for Azure Networking, Zscaler, Fortinet, Zero Trust security, and hybrid cloud connectivity.
The ideal candidate has a strong infrastructure engineering background with deep hands-on networking expertise and experience supporting modern cloud-first environments. This individual will own network architecture, provide Level 3 escalation support, guide infrastructure strategy, and drive network and security modernization efforts.
Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and support enterprise network and infrastructure solutions across on-premises and Azure environments.
  • Lead Azure networking initiatives, including VNets, ExpressRoute, VPNs, NSGs, Load Balancers, Azure Firewall, and hybrid cloud connectivity.
  • Administer and optimize Zscaler platforms and support the organization's Zero Trust networking strategy.
  • Configure and manage Fortinet technologies, including FortiGate firewalls, SD-WAN, VPNs, and security policies.
  • Serve as the highest-level escalation point for complex networking and infrastructure issues.
  • Oversee and provide technical guidance to the Managed NOC and external service providers.
  • Drive network modernization projects focused on security, cloud adoption, performance, and scalability.
  • Partner with infrastructure, cloud, and security teams to improve overall platform reliability and security.
  • Conduct root cause analysis, implement preventative measures, and maintain technical documentation.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and make recommendations for continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience in Infrastructure Engineering, Network Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Azure Networking and hybrid cloud environments.
  • Deep expertise with Zscaler and Zero Trust networking principles.
  • Advanced experience with Fortinet technologies, including FortiGate firewalls and SD-WAN.
  • Strong understanding of routing and switching protocols, including BGP and OSPF.
  • Experience supporting:
    • LAN/WAN environments
    • VPN technologies
    • Network segmentation
    • Wireless infrastructure
    • Cloud networking
  • Experience troubleshooting complex enterprise networking and infrastructure issues.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work across technical and business teams.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Broader Azure infrastructure experience, including compute, storage, monitoring, and identity services.
  • Experience with SASE/SSE architectures.
  • Cisco Meraki experience.
  • Experience working with managed service providers and outsourced NOC teams.
  • Relevant certifications such as:
    • Azure Network Engineer Associate (AZ-700)
    • Fortinet FCP/FCSS
    • Zscaler Certifications
    • CCNP Enterprise
