Cloud Infrastructure Engineer (AWS & Azure)
Location: The Woodlands, TX
Department: Information Technology / Infrastructure
Position Summary
The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for building, supporting, and maintaining cloud infrastructure across Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure. This role focuses on hands-on delivery, automation, and operational support of cloud platforms, including identity and Single Sign-On (SSO) integrations. The engineer works under established architectural standards while collaborating with senior engineers, application teams, and security to ensure cloud environments are secure, reliable, and scalable.
Key Responsibilities
  • Deploy, configure, and maintain cloud infrastructure in AWS and Azure, including compute, storage, networking, and platform services
  • Implement and support Single Sign-On (SSO) integrations for cloud and SaaS applications using SAML 2.0, OAuth 2.0, and OpenID Connect (OIDC)
  • Integrate applications with Azure Entra ID (Azure AD) and AWS IAM following documented standards and best practices
  • Support identity and access management (IAM) tasks such as role assignments, RBAC, MFA, and conditional access policies
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM/Bicep, or similar tools
  • Assist with hybrid connectivity (VPNs, ExpressRoute, Direct Connect) between on-premises and cloud environments
  • Build and maintain automation scripts and CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure provisioning and updates
  • Monitor cloud environments for availability, performance, security, and cost, escalating issues as needed
  • Participate in incident response, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis for infrastructure and authentication issues
  • Maintain documentation, runbooks, and configuration standards
  • Collaborate with senior engineers and architects on cloud improvements and migrations

Required Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of experience in infrastructure or cloud engineering roles
  • Hands-on experience with AWS and/or Azure in production environments
  • Practical experience supporting SSO and identity federation for applications
  • Working knowledge of authentication and authorization concepts (SAML, OAuth, OIDC, MFA)
  • Experience with Azure Entra ID (Azure AD) and AWS IAM fundamentals
  • Experience with automation and scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Azure CLI, AWS CLI)
  • Solid understanding of cloud networking and security basics
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work within established standards

Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate-level cloud certifications (AWS Solutions Architect - Associate, Azure Administrator)
  • Experience integrating third-party SaaS applications with SSO
  • Exposure to containers or Kubernetes (AKS, EKS)
  • Experience supporting enterprise or hybrid environments
