Accounting Specialist
Full time Position: 40 hours per week
Wage: $24-$28 per hour
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Reports to Vice President
National Hydro Excavation Services’ Accounting Specialist will manage accounts payable and receivable. Along with payroll various other accounting and office duties for a heavy industrial and private projects construction company.
Essential Functions:
- Capable to sit in a desk chair for several hours in a working day
- Physically use your eyes to read computer monitor for several hours in a working day
- Ability to utilize a computer and Microsoft Office

- Knowledge of payroll, garnishments, and benefit distribution

Duties:
- Collecting timesheet data and payroll information
- Entering data into payroll and administrative databases and software programs
- Verifying payroll hours and approving payroll to be processed
- Calculating wages, benefits, and tax deductions
- Preparing and processing paychecks, cash deposits, and Pex cards
- Managing incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures
- Processing sales/use tax returns
- Verifying, classifying, and recording accounts payable data
- Generating invoices and account statements
- Performing account reconciliations
- Producing monthly financial and management reports
- Answering incoming calls related to accounting
- Carry out tasks such as filing, typing, copying, binding, and scanning
- Work closely with Human Resources regarding any payroll or reimbursement concerns
- Coordinating Vice President’s calendar and travel arrangements
- Processing quarterly and annual renewals for international registration plans, unified carrier registration, and international fuel tax agreements.
- Adhere to DOT Compliance
- Coding and scanning receipts
- Obtaining certificates of insurance and processing purchase orders
- Approving timesheet data and payroll information
Minimum Qualifications:
- 1-3 years accounting and payroll education or equivalent work experience
- Understand general ledgers and account debit/credits
- High communication, organizational, attention to detail, and efficiency skills
- Demonstrate effective problem-solving skills in a minimum supervision office environment
- Ability to learn and navigate Foundation payroll software
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel
