Job Description

This position is based in Boyertown PA

Job Summary:

The Buyer will perform all day-to-day purchasing activities, including PO placement, PO acknowledgements, tracking, and reconciliation with domestic and international suppliers. Responsibilities include, but not limited to, monitoring inventory levels, expediting orders, forecasting future demands, scheduling inbound shipments, purchasing of supplies, coordinating new item acquisitions, creating/running reports, and working on continuous improvement projects.

The position will interact with many distinct levels of the organization. Primary interaction will be with the Operations Manager and related sales contacts to successfully manage the role. Engagement with Shipping & Receiving, Inventory Control, Customer Service and Operations team will also be critical as to the tactical execution of the role. This position reports to the Operations Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

· Develop and maintain vendor relationships to ensure reliable and cost-effective purchasing.

· Assist in selecting optimal vendors, negotiating terms and conditions, and monitoring quality and delivery.

· Use Forecasting, Historical demand, and specific business requests to define stocking levels and purchasing plans, updating as needed to ensure accuracy.

· Define and update item masters in the ERP system – pricing, UoM, lead times, etc. – to maintain the system integrity needed to be successful.

· Use MRP system to manage Purchase Orders.

· Complete ownership of purchasing cycle – from placing order to follow-up to ensure timely receipt of product.

· Monitor and maintain inventory levels and order materials to ensure product availability and minimize stock-outs.

· Generate and analyze reports to ensure materials are available to meet customer service levels.

· Plan and coordinate activities to ensure maximum efficiency of production, inventory, and customer service levels.

· Communicate issues with customer service and operations staff regularly.

· Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of all data entered into the ERP system.

· Prepares reports, spreadsheets and other related documentation as directed.

· Perform other duties as necessary to support business needs.

Requirements:

· Good multitasking skills;

· Strategic and tactical thinker;

· Willingness to travel;

· Intermediate PC skills (Word, Excel, Outlook);

· Ability to be nimble and problem-solve with an entrepreneurial attitude;

· Ability to read, write and speak English fluently;

· 1-2 years’ experience in eCommerce, sales, or analytics is preferred;

· Communicate clearly, concisely, timely, and professionally within our team and with external vendors;

· Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Finance, or equivalent applicable certification;

· Experience in Excel managing data with advanced formulas and functions.
