Job Description

California Coast Credit Union is looking for a QA Analyst to create and and execute manual as well as automated testing for the credit union. This role will define, develop and drive the strategy to validate the credit union's technology from development through release. This role will analyze product requirements; develop/execute test plans and test cases; report defects; generate test reports; help building QA guidelines and best practice. Good instincts to identify product vulnerabilities and methodically cover all product features are essential to deliver a high quality product.

DIMENSIONS:

  • Concurrent execution of QA testing multiple projects and/or programs with multiple sub projects.
  • Collaborates with management and staff of 25 departments, 28 branches, and call center, as well as multiple external vendors and organizations.
  • Builds and execute test cases that ensures quality on products that have substantial effect on member service and significantly impact the financial standing and overall welfare of the credit union.
  • Development and execution of test coverage for multiple platforms working with the Manager/Lead of Quality Assurance to implement changes as needed to support the strategic initiatives of the credit union.

Supervisory responsibilities:

  • This position reports directly to the Manager/Lead of Quality Assurance

NATURE & SCOPE:

  • Test Creation and Execution
    • Embed built in quality mindset in the SDLC.
    • Partner with team to create test plan for each release, including regression and smoke testing.
    • Help the development of entry/exit criteria of user stories, contingency planning, measurement of progress
    • Continuous improvement – identify opportunities for testing growth and apply with regular cadence
    • Report Status of project and tasks
    • Create and execute test cases based on the release test plan

Other Education, Skills, and Abilities

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Experience.
  • 5+ years’ experience as a QA Analyst and manual testing
  • 2+ years’ work in financial/banking industry
  • 2+ years’ work with Jack Henry/Symitar product
  • Requires good knowledge of data warehouse and SQL queries
  • Experience building and maintaining a regression test suite
  • Must be able to work with near shore resources and train other QA team members
  • Experience with browser testing and mobile app testing
  • Knowledge of Test automation, JIRA issue tracking and project management, Xray test case management tool, Postman API platform, CI/CD Pipeline
  • Knowledge of Agile Development, SDLC, DLC is important
  • Ability to communicate status, any issues that come up in testing, etc.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.
  • Performs other duties as required.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

  • Work requires concentrated mental attention and focus.

  • Work is primarily within a cubicle office setting subject to conversational noise and interruptions found in that environment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to tolerate periods of continuous sitting; ability to operate and utilize a personal computer and peripherals.

Note: Staff is expected to perform various tasks, projects and administrative duties as assigned.
