Key Responsibilities:
- Primary responsibility is to make sure that the Food distribution warehouse is always in Food, Health & Safety Compliance and Food Audits are completed according to job specifications and within the Operations.
- Handle all back logs Managing Operations and conduct Random Sanitation inspections.
- Perform daily inspections at food processing establishments, including Baking products processing plants, and storage facilities, to ensure adherence to sanitation, quality, and safety standards set by FSIS.
- Conduct inspections of Inventory and food products before and after distribution to verify compliance with health, food & safety guidelines and identify any signs of disease or contamination.
- Monitor and evaluate the implementation of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) plans to prevent foodborne illnesses and ensure proper handling and processing of products.
- Collect samples of inventory and egg products for laboratory testing and analysis, ensuring that they meet the required safety and quality standards.
- Review and assess records of production, labeling, and packaging to verify accurate information to protect consumer health and prevent misbranding or adulteration.
- Act as a liaison between the food establishment management and FSIS, providing guidance on regulatory compliance and addressing any concerns or violations promptly.
Skills & Experience:
- Minimum of 2-3 years of Food & Safety Compliance Management experience in a Food production facility.
- Knowledge of food safety principles and regulations.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ethical and objective attitude.
Education:
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in in food science, microbiology, nutrition, or a related field.
- Following certification are preferred : HACCP training certificate, Lead auditor training certificate and Auditing SQF Systems training certificate.
Physical Requirements:
- Walking and standing for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to bend, kneel and pick up food samples for inspection.
Equipment Used:
- Food Thermometers, Temperature & Humidity sensors, Temperature Probes, Differential Pressure Probes; etc.
Qualities Preferred:
- Communication and interpersonal skills.
- To conduct an effective audit must possess the ability to know when to observe; when to ask questions; when to listen; what to record; and to always be curious.
