Criticalist Veterinary Specialist

Mount Laurel Animal Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Criticalist Veterinary Specialist to join our team. As a Criticalist Veterinary Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing advanced medical care and treatment to critically ill and injured animals.

We have an amazing support staff with very experienced nurses and over 14 VTS technicians leading a dedicated technician training department. Our team is made up of over 170+ staff members, 50 veterinarians and several board certified specialists including three full-time internists, five full-time surgeons, three oncologists, full-time anesthesiologist, full-time ophthalmologist, in-house clinical pathologist, part time cardiologist, full-time radiologist, four dedicated exotics veterinarians, full-time behavioral medicine, a full-time neurology service, and two full-time Emergency & Critical Care doctors.


We are fully equipped with a Toshiba 64 Slice CT, Siemen's 1.5 Tesla MRI, endoscopic equipment, a fully integrated in-house laboratory, surgical suites, ultrasound, digital radiography, therapy laser, surgical laser, Snyder ICU cages, chemo hood, and fully stocked pharmacy. Our expansion will include a dedicated internal medicine/endoscopy procedure room, dedicated i131 space, dedicated ultrasound and reading rooms, CT, MRI, advanced and minimally invasive surgery rooms, and a dedicated ICU.


Location: Our hospital is located in Mount Laurel, NJ which is a convenient 20-25 minute commute from Philadelphia and only 1-hour drive to the Jersey Shore.


Responsibilities:

- Diagnose and treat complex medical conditions in animals requiring critical care.

- Conduct thorough examinations, perform diagnostic tests, and interpret results.

- Develop and implement treatment plans tailored to each patient's specific needs.

- Administer medications, perform surgeries, and provide emergency interventions.

- Collaborate with a team of veterinarians, technicians, and support staff to ensure comprehensive and compassionate care.

- Communicate effectively with pet owners, providing updates on their animal's condition and explaining treatment options.

Qualifications:

- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited veterinary school.

- Board-certified in Critical Care or Emergency and Critical Care by the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care (ACVECC).

- Extensive experience in emergency and critical care veterinary medicine.

- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
