ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE

Job Summary:
Merit Chevrolet Co. is seeking a detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Accounts Receivable Specialist. This is a full-time, individual contributor role in the Accounting  department of our auto dealership located in St. Paul, Minnesota. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and previous experience in the auto industry.

Compensation & Benefits:
This position offers a competitive salary of $21 to $25 per hour, paid weekly. In addition, we offer a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401k, paid time off, and opportunities for growth and advancement within the company.

Responsibilities:
- Process and reconcile daily deposits
- Monitor and follow up on outstanding accounts receivable balances
- Handle collections calls and emails in a professional and timely manner
- Reconcile and post payments received from customers
- Review and process credit applications for new customers
- Communicate and work closely with sales and service departments to resolve any billing discrepancies
- Prepare and maintain accurate and organized records of all accounts receivable transactions
- Generate and analyze aging reports to identify delinquent accounts and take appropriate action
- Assist with month-end closing procedures and other ad hoc projects as needed

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent, Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred
- 2+ years of experience in Accounts Receivable, preferably in the auto industry
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software systems
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Experience with collections and credit applications is a plus
