Job Description

The General Laborer / Engineering Support position is responsible for performing a variety of basic tasks to complete daily product testing goals. Laborers will assist Engineers with tasks located in the testing facility. Spread pattern testing requires the use of pans for accurate swath measuring. Laborers will assist in picking up and laying down of pans, as well as weighing of material.

  • Assists Engineering department with testing of product.
  • Places spread pans in appropriate areas of testing facility, picks up spread pans.
  • Weighs material from pans and places material into test tubes for measurement.

Requirements

Qualifications and Essential Skills:

  • One + years of manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Basic computer skills preferred; must be able to use computer systems to clock-in/clock-out, and report work activities.

While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; up to 8 hours in an 8-hour shift. Repetitive bending is required to perform the critical duties of the job. The employee will frequently lift 50 pounds. The employee will push/pull with up to 110 pounds of force. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, walk, or crawl. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The employee is frequently required to balance, climb ladders, or work on platforms to access elevated equipment.

Duties will be performed during the winter months, and may include work conditions of below freezing temperatures. Employees are expected to dress accordingly. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and vibration, and occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. Employee may be exposed to hazardous chemicals. Employee is required to wear steel toed shoes, gloves, and safety glasses. The noise level in the plant shop environment is moderately loud. Handles hazardous waste according to company policy and participates in annual hazardous waste training.
