Location: Hackensack, NJ

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse is a crucial member of the healthcare team, responsible for evaluating patients and collaborating with physicians to provide optimal patient care. This role requires clinical expertise, compassion, and the ability to prioritize patient needs effectively. The Registered Nurse will plan, implement, and document nursing care tailored to each patient's unique requirements, ensuring comprehensive and individualized care delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate patients and assist physicians in delivering high-quality care.
• Plan, implement, and document nursing care based on the assessed needs of patients.
• Identify patient needs and establish priorities for care through thorough assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Develop, implement, and coordinate individualized plans of care based on initial and ongoing assessments.
• Initiate assessments considering the patient's conditions, medical diagnosis, and functional health framework.
• Perform therapeutic nursing interventions to promote patient recovery and well-being.
• Manage the care of assigned patients efficiently and effectively.
• Document care according to established standards and guidelines, considering patient acuity and clinical priorities.
• Advocate for evidence-based practice care standards and support the adoption of innovative care delivery practices.
• Provide patient-centric care aligned with the professional nursing practice model.
• Fulfill other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
• Float to units within competency as required, specifically the Cardiac Vascular & Post Surgical Stepdown Unit.

Shift Details:

• 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, 3x12.
• Every other weekend and holidays required.
• Duration: 13 weeks.
• Unit: Intermediate Medical Care.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in the ICU & Step-Down setting required, with 3-5+ years highly preferred.
• Recent bedside experience in ICU and Step-Down units within the past six months is mandatory.
• Competent in working with pulmonary patients, ventilators, tracheostomies, administering drips, intubation, etc., particularly in a COVID ICU unit.
• ACLS & BLS certifications are required. CCRN or PCCN certifications are highly preferred.
• Willingness and ability to treat and manage patients with various conditions, including but not limited to flu, COVID, heart issues, lung issues, etc.
• Flexibility to float or downgrade as per unit needs.
