SUMMARY
The Warehouse Lead will assist the Warehouse Supervisor with Warehouse operations and different functions within Sage (ERP). Also, ensure inventory accuracy across the site by directly supporting accuracy of transactions and verifying information, receiving in material and correctly uploading receiving documents, transferring product from site to site to ensure third party warehouse is receiving correct shipments, placing non-managed item orders, amongst other functions in Sage. These roles are crucial for efficient operations and low obsolescence. The Warehouse Lead will also directly engage and support the team in manufacturing/warehouse environment throughout their shift by assisting in any way possible the tasks set forth and maximize performance and efficiency.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Knowledge of Sage X3 and utilize software to make transactions, correct transactions, and verify accuracy of information in support of a production shift.
  • Actively participate in ERP transition to SAP.
  • Serve as first line of support for operators, forklift drivers, and supervisors who need assistance and/or who need feedback to ensure they are completing necessary tasks.
  • Review ERP reports, dash boards, and cycle counts to understand accuracy of locations and support targeted auditing and correcting of inventory.
  • Help establish, maintain, and train personnel on efficient and effective SOPs for best practice in ERP and inventory management processes using COACH app.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, materials management, warehousing and finance groups to provide guidance on inventory variance reconciliation to ensure only appropriate adjustments are taken.
  • Document variances and adjustments to facilitate root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Assists in training of new personnel to the department and ensures they follow proper procedures, policies, and processes.
  • Oversees warehouse operations to ensure normal functions throughout the shift(s) such as material movement to and from warehouse/production, deliveries arrive according to ETA, shipments depart at targeted times, etc.
  • Ensures FEFO is being followed on material movement by forklift operators.
  • Oversees off shifts, may at time make minor decisions or exercise independent judgement in supervisor's absence.
  • Perform Warehouse Supervisor assignments upon his absence to include material ordering, transportation assignments, and other tasks as assigned.
  • Learn shipping/receiving document processes to support the coordinators and fill in as needed.
  • Constant communication between Quality, Production, and all other departments.
  • Coordinates all pick-ups and deliveries from the Carson site to include outside items (pallets, totes, fig waste, etc.)
  • Keeps constant communication with Warehouse Supervisor of warehouse operations, areas of improvement, employee concerns, and possible process changes.
  • Mentors and influences new warehouse personnel to properly operate powered industrial trucks.
  • Operates powered industrial trucks according to manufacturer's instructions and company safety rules.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Drive a culture of safety, accuracy and teamwork.

QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The following list that follows is representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required:

  • Proficiency or ability to quickly become proficient with ERP system.
  • Ability to learn reports and techniques used to understand accuracy.
  • Ability to influence/challenge peers in operations/warehouse in executing key tasks accurately.
  • Ability to build cross-functional relationships with key stakeholders and inventory owners.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, have problem solving abilities, and strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong organization and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 2-years' experience with Stand-Up, Sit-Down & Reach Forklifts within a production environment.
  • 2-years' experience with computers and Excel programs.
  • 2-years' warehouse and manufacturing experience.

This position has supervisory responsibilities.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position works in a manufacturing setting, with some outdoor exposure during the workday. The employee is exposed to airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
