Staff Accountant

We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team! The Staff Accountant performs various daily accounting tasks such as correspondent bank reconciliations, general ledger account reconciliations and processing journal entries. The position will process accounts payable and maintain fixed asset and prepaid general ledger accounts as needed. The position will prepare monthly workpapers related to the Bank's monthly general ledger and certification program. The position will also assist with regulatory filings.

Responsibilities, include but are not limited to:

1. Prepares daily correspondent bank reconciliations and journal entries.
2. Enters fixed assets and prepaid assets activity into accounting system.
3. Prepares workpapers related to monthly general ledger and certification process.
4. Posts financial data to appropriate accounts in an automated accounting system.
5. Processes payments and documents such as invoices, journal entries, employee reimbursements, and credit card statements as needed.
6. Prepares regulatory filings.
7. Files and/or removes records and reports.
8. Performs related work as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred
• Possess strong written/verbal communication skills as well as excellent organizational/time management skills
• Basic skills in computer terminal and personal computer operation; and word processing and spreadsheet software
• Ability to work with minimal supervision while performing duties
• Project a businesslike professionalism
• Basic experience, knowledge and training in Business Banking Center operation activities, terminology and products and services - preferred
• Basic knowledge of related state and federal banking compliance regulations, and other Bank operational policies - preferred

Target Compensation: $32 hourly, depending on experience.
