Job Description

Concrete Placing Company, Inc. is looking for talented, diligent individual to lead a team of highly motivated employees that build concrete projects in the Pacific NW. This position will support Concrete Placing Co., Inc.’s Paving Division. 

Qualifications

Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction technology, equipment, methods, negotiations, engineering, cost controls, schedules and safety is required. Candidate must have excellent communication, organizational and supervisory skills essential.

Candidate must have a minimum 3 to 5 years with supervising concrete paving or 5 to 8 years paving foreman experience and/or technical training or related experience.  Wireless control and surveying knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and manages the construction plan for the successful execution of the work. 
  • Coordinates the means and methods, manpower, equipment, material resources and subcontractors required to accomplish this plan.
  • Prepares the Weekly Progress Report in coordination with the appropriate people.
  • Uses available reports to accurately record receipt of all material purchases, deliveries and manage costs and prepare accurate cost projections.
  • Helps prepare the original CPM Project Schedule.  Coordinates incremental schedules with the Field Foreman, Subcontractors and other appropriate people for monthly updates.
  • Conducts weekly subcontractor coordination meetings.  Reviews short duration schedule responsibilities.
  • Prepares daily field schedules.
  • Reviews the Procurement Schedule.  Identifies items which could cause detrimental schedule problems for the project.  Researches alternatives for the Project Manager’s approval.
  • Coordinates the documentation of design conflicts and clarifications with the appropriate owner and company personnel.
  • Coordinates and performs the timely completion of all punch lists and develops a schedule as required for the successful turnover to the owner.
  • Provides feedback to estimators for use in future bidding or negotiations.
  • Supports Company efforts to obtain new work by remaining alert to business opportunities and sharing information with appropriate Company personnel.
  • Participates in activities to support the Company’s strategic planning efforts and/or improve specific business or construction processes.
  • Prepares weekly and monthly project safety meetings to maintain a safe jobsite. Superintendent shall maintain a safe job site by thorough inspection, guidance and strict adherence to the Company Safety Policy, The Occupational Health and Safety Act (OSHA), and other applicable safety laws to ensure that a safe working condition exists for everyone on the jobsite.
  • Establish and communicate performance expectations, providing positive and constructive feedback, determining training and development needs and conducting on-the-job training.  May conduct Employee Reviews.  Make hiring, discipline and/or termination decisions.

 

Compensation

Concrete Placing Company, Inc. compensation and benefits package is designed to provide a complete package that rewards hardworking, dedicated and reliable employees.
