Investments Clearance Manager

If this aligns with your values and you want to join a leader in the banking industry, we are hiring for an Investments Clearance Manager that will be responsible for overall management of the Investments settlement function, as well as the direct supervision of related departmental staff.

MAJOR DUTIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Manages and approves all activities relevant to trade settlements or transfer of securities.
• Manages all aspects of the pledging process, ensuring regulatory and departmental guidelines are met.
• Manages department staff including, coaching and development, performance appraisals, and disciplinary actions.
• Assists management with analyses and developments of processes and efficiencies, policies and procedures, and potential customer growth opportunities.
• Serves as a backup to intra-departmental managers.
• Develops and manages the cross-training effort for the Investments Clearance area and ensures processing of daily work.
• Works closely with auditors and upstream correspondents, to ensure compliance in required areas.
• Provides assistance, as needed, to Capital Markets, Treasury and/or ALX management team.
• Complies with all banking laws and regulations, and maintains the confidentiality of bank and customer information.

REQUIREMENTS/DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Required

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 3 years’ experience in financial services industry
• Prior relevant experience such as reconcilement, exception processing, or accounting.
• Must be detail oriented and possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Individual should possess good interpersonal skills and be able to work within and foster a team environment
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and across all levels
• Software: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Preferred

• FIS/InTrader; Bloomberg; Adobe Acrobat
• Bachelor’s degree
• 5-7 years Investment Clearance experience
• 3-5 years Investment Operations experience
• 3-5 years supervisory experience
• 3-5 years of FIS/InTrader Custodial/Portfolio Accounting systems experience
• Prior experience in reconcilements and GAAP
