Chief Financial Officer

Nickolas Asset Management (NAM) is a family owned and operated asset management firm with a diversified portfolio of companies including product innovation / engineering, manufacturing, and real estate. NAM is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our team.

The CFO will be a senior member of the executive leadership team, reporting directly to the CEO and will act as an advisor to the Owner of the business. The CFO position is a key partner and is responsible for managing the overall financial activities to ensure company meets their strategic goals. This position will oversee tax planning and other key family strategic objectives including annual company budgets, risk management, operational strategies, key performance indicators, FP&A, implementation and maintenance of financial control process and financial guidance to the leadership team.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Recruit and maintain top level financial team focused on financial reporting, tax, accounting, and FP&A functions.

• Assist in the development and implementation of the company goals and objectives that align directly with the Strategic Business Plan.

• Develop financial and tax strategies for the parent and subsidiary companies.

• Maintain excellent relationship with banking and financial institutions focused on meeting the company’s growth objectives while ensuring compliance with financial covenants and reporting requirement.

• Coordinate with external brokers to oversee insurance and risk management activities.

• Provide guidance to the accounting and sales teams on customer pricing strategies.

• Oversee preparation of business unit and consolidated financial statements, forecasts, optimization activities and business plan updates.

• Provide direction, oversite, and strategy for all annual and revised budgets.

• Ensure completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of financial reporting.

• Collaborate on the review, due diligence, and action of acquisition initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in accounting, or Finance preferred.

• Certified Public Accountant designation highly preferred

• 10 years of experience in both public accounting and corporate accounting

• Prior experience as a CFO preferred.

• Proven history of implementation process efficiencies and profit improvement plans

• Excellent leadership, team development, culture, and communication skills

• Must be highly analytical with top tier organizational skills.

• Experience in M&A activities including due diligence activities, purchase strategies and financing options.

• Substantive experience in standard cost accounting function, including allocation of overhead costs in establishing machine level and product standard costs.

• Experience in general ledger and financial accounting as well as functions of accounts receivable, credit and collections, accounts payable, customer invoicing, and financial reporting.

• Proficient in management of ERP systems, IQMS experience preferred.

Position Details:

• Primary Location: Sarasota, FL.

• Travel requirements up to 30% travel in the United States (Midwest / Southwest)

• This position will report to the CEO
