We are trying to find a smart and collaborative Facility Maintenance Manger to join our Engineering team. You will report to the V.P. of Engineering and be expected to manage our facility maintenance department. This person will also work alongside multiple departments to ensure facility complies with all plant specific safety policies, NFPA, Factory Mutual, and OSHA standards.

Job Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a state-of-the-art facility with the focus on continuous improvement by seeking feedback, analyzing performance metrics and implementing best practices
- Implement and oversee safety protocols and security measures to protect employees, assets and the facility
- Participate in sustainability efforts such as energy efficiency improvements, waste reduction programs and environmentally friendly practices to minimize impact on the environment
- Stay updated on emerging technologies relevant to facility management and implement innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and performance
- Stay abreast of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards pertaining to facility management and ensure the facility remains in compliance at all times Oversees the company grounds, buildings and equipment developing maintenance plans, addressing facility maintenance issues to ensure that the facility is safe and functional.
- Plans, directs and coordinates the day to day activities and work of facility maintenance department, delegating, assigning maintenance work orders and providing direction to the facility maintenance department. Coordinates activities with the Lead Technician, Electrical Maintenance Manager, purchasing department and external contractors
- Direct & monitor progress of repairs, modifications, preventative maintenance & upgrades to the facility and surrounding areas
- Provides continuous updates and progress reporting to next level management
- Ensures that work/project activities are completed and comply with OSHA safety standards
- Expected to keep up-to-date technically & apply new knowledge to the job
- Expected to be on-site at scheduled work times, according to the inclement weather policy to coordinate, prepare & make the facility safe for the arrival of workforce prior to their scheduled starting time
- Serves as the facility’s secondary On-call at all times for facility issues that arise to assist the on-call technician during emergencies whenever needed
- Develops work procedures and check lists for various PMs and job specifics maintenance requirements
- Provides fire systems training as needed to new facility personnel, supervisors, or refresher to those who need it. Includes navigation of the system, generating hot work permit / inspections, fire watch forms and recording necessary information in logs
- Investigates complaints, disturbances, violations and resolves problems following current rules & regulations
- Communicates with insurance carrier, fire and police departments as well as other agencies to ensure protection and compliance with codes / regulations
- Maintains records of special permits issued, as well as maintenance and operating costs
- Oversees the planning, scheduling & coordination of general maintenance and major repairs
- Project manager for remodeling or construction projects at the facility
- Directs & approves the procurement of facility maintenance supplies, equipment, etc.
- Directs the selection of contractors or vendors for facility maintenance and grounds keeping activities
- Directs the maintenance, testing and repair of all facilities equipment
- Works the office schedule with flexibility to work whenever needed
- Must be able to operate all types of forklifts and specialized lifts equipment
- Moderate US but minimal international travel required
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s degree and equivalent documented work experience in Facility Maintenance or related fields is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Facility Maintenance or related field, with a proven history of continuous improvement.
- Creates, defines RFQ (Request for Quotation) descriptions, specifics, points for contractor job quotes
- Assembles and analyzes construction and vendor service contract bids
- Creates / approves all purchase requisitions as generated from Facility team
- Develops & administers annual operating budget
- Directs & coordinates the activities of technical staff and contract personnel performance
- Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and levels of the organization.
- Experienced in employee development and strategic planning
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team through collaboration, engagement and building trust.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience managing and coaching a team.
- Demonstrates sound judgement and deals with conflict with diplomacy.
- Highly organized and meticulous, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously. Be able to coordinate Facility Maintenance activities with our Facility Engineer and the Electrical Department ensuring minimal disruptions to operations
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels in the company.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Building Automation Systems.
