Job Description

Submittable is looking for a  Multimedia Graphic Designer to create high-quality designs and multimedia assets that build our brand, engage our audience, and support marketing campaigns.

Your day-to-day tasks will include conceptualizing and producing a wide range of creative designs; delivering quality work on deadline; and showing a strong attention to detail. You'll work closely with two talented creators on our team—a senior designer and a videographer—as well as with our broader marketing team and other internal departments.

In recent years, Submittable has seen exciting growth in grants management and social impact programs. You will use your design skills to help us grow as a leader in this space, helping organizations around the world make a positive impact in their communities along the way.

This is a full-time position. Currently, our team works largely from home with the option for full-time in-office work or occasional coworking for Missoula and Seattle-area candidates. Our team is productive and happy in a lot of different environments, and we are open to finding the right mix for you.

The Multimedia Graphic Designer responsibilities include:

  • Conceptualize and produce original, compelling designs for a wide variety of assets—everything from banner ads and multi-page guides to pitch decks, sales collateral, webpages, illustrations, and icon creation
  • Create digital images, illustrations, and animations for the website and social media
  • Support video projects with visual storyboards, designs, pre/post production and animations
  • Contribute to our brand language by creating custom illustrations and icons and by further building out our illustration guidelines and libraries
  • Update and maintain internal databases of designs, photography, illustrations, and video, and help evolve and maintain our visual brand standards
  • Prioritize and manage multiple projects from concept to delivery on deadline
  • Collaborate, brainstorm, and communicate well with others to understand the scope and goals of the project, and to incorporate feedback

An ideal candidate will have these qualities and experience:

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in visual and digital design, preferably within a marketing team
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating experience creating effective designs for marketing campaigns through multiple channels
  • Highly proficient with design programs like the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator) and experience and aptitude with software design tools (e.g. Figma) preferred
  • Motion graphics skills and experience with tools like After Effects strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge of typography, design systems, & visual storytelling

We are interested in every qualified candidate who is eligible to work in the United States, however, we are unable to accommodate scholastic or employment visas at this time.
