Job Description

CAD Technician | Guam

Under the direct supervision of a Project Manager (PM)/Engineering Team Leader (ETL), the CAD II Technician position provides intermediate level application of computer aided drafting. Performs assignments designed to develop professional work knowledge and abilities. Performs a sequence of related drafting tasks, using standard techniques, procedures, and criteria. Desired competencies include: willingness to learn, attention to detail and ability to receive limited direction and instruction. The successful candidate adheres to company policy and learns to work well with others within a fast paced entrepreneurial environment. Prior relevant experience in engineering and construction is a plus. Incumbent in this position must have at least two years of work experience at a CAD I level.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience

  1. Associates degree in computer aided drafting or two years as a CAD I drafter.

Skills

  1. Intermediate level CAD skills, including editing and proofreading.
  2. Ability to maintain automated and manual record keeping systems.
  3. Strong sense of team spirit and ability to transfer it to others.
  4. Limited exercise of judgment is required on details of work and in making preliminary selections and adaptations of drafting alternatives.
  5. Problem solving—the individual identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner and gathers and analyzes information as appropriate.
  6. Interpersonal Skills—the individual maintains confidentiality, remains open to others’ ideas and exhibits willingness to try new things.
  7. Oral communication—the individual speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations and demonstrates group presentation skills.
  8. Written Communication—the individual edits work for spelling and grammar, presents numerical data effectively and is able to read and interpret written information.
  9. Planning/organizing—the individual prioritizes and plans work activities, uses time efficiently and develops realistic action plans.
  10. Quality control—the individual demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and monitors own work to ensure quality.
  11. Adaptability—the individual adapts to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.
  12. Dependability—the individual is consistently at work and on time, follows instructions, responds to management direction and solicits feedback to improve performance.
  13. Safety and security—the individual actively promotes and personally observes safety and security procedures, and uses equipment and materials properly.
