Position: Greenskeeper-05 (3) Salary: $19.41/hour

Season is from May-October.

Incumbent will be on Leave Without Pay (LWOP) from November-April.

DUTIES:

This position performs mowing, watering, and basic maintenance of the Golf Course. Mows greens, rakes traps, waters, cuts fairways, tees, aprons and rough areas as needed; aerates, fertilizes, applies fungicides and insecticides as directed; prunes trees and shrubs; retrieves practice balls and baskets from driving range; disposes of trash and helps clean the Club House; Take down the flag; may be required to operate heavy machinery; may be required to assist in the pro shop/snack bar as necessary; perform other related duties as required.

Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Uses required safety equipment and observes safe work procedures. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Minimum:

1. High school diploma, GED or Trade School graduate.

2. Experience working outdoors.

3. Experience following oral and written instructions.

4. Must have a valid state driver’s license.

5. Must be able to continuously stand, walk, stoop, reach, push, pull and bend for long periods of time. Must be physically able to frequently lift objects weighing up to 45 pounds.

Preferred:

1. Experience in grounds maintenance and accepted methods used in seeding, mowing, and replacing grasses used on golf courses.

2. Knowledge of soils, chemicals, equipment used for maintenance and upkeep of golf courses; common grass diseases and pests and environmentally approved methods used for their control and eradication.

3. Certificate of completion of environmental training.
