Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The process technician develops and analyses data for the source of improvement in existing equipment and identifies and focuses on cost efficiency. Maintains standards set in tool and gage department that promotes production flexibility while reducing changeover times for assigned projects. Coordinates technical changes and the development and implementation of continual improvements.

  • Provide technical support for the development, initiation, and modification of production involving injection molding, electro-mechanical, and robotics systems.
  • Perform Mold maintenance.
  • Plan and coordinate for the integration of new machinery, equipment and components for the production of new products.
  • Create and maintain all process documentation.
  • Creates and Leads optimization projects
  • Processes by identifying, validating, and implementing continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Identify and drive projects to reduce cost, eliminate waste, and improve process capabilities, as well as, to improve product quality and workplace safety.
  • Establishes process and process capability standards for all plastics processing equipment.
  • Conduct process audits to support process capability in support of product quality efforts.
  • Creates and updates documentation related to plastic equipment process capabilities
  • Develop specifications and provide technical expertise to purchase new equipment and tooling. Also provides technical support and compatibility/reliability for custom manufacturing or processing equipment.
  • Responsible for leading implementation and validation of all new plastics processing equipment and tooling projects.
  • Assist manufacturing and maintenance teams to troubleshoot plastics production equipment issues by identifying the root cause of issues and implementing sustainable corrective actions.
  • Work a flexible schedule to occasionally cover off-shift and weekend work.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, and establishing professional networks.

 

Qualifications:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  Education/Experience:

High School diploma or equivalent.  Must have good English written and verbal communication skills. 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing operation, some experience in the Molding or plastic industry is preferred. A working knowledge of measurement instruments.

Language Ability:

Read and interpret documents such as schematics, drawings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Write routine reports.

 Mathematical Ability:

Add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals and metric system.

Reasoning Ability:

Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Computer Skills:

Basic computer skills required. General proficiency of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus
