Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

The company is currently looking for an infrastructure engineer that has the ability to work on-site, independently, and with minimal supervision. They should be able to assist in gathering requirements from product stakeholders. This individual should also expect to float between projects, helping out wherever needed.

As a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer on our team, you have the chance to operate and maintain Cloud systems in support of our clients. Your technical expertise will be vital as you evaluate and modernize Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud infrastructure. You’ll develop your skills in system administration while gaining experience with information systems planning and execution. Grow your skills by merging virtualization and containerization and system configuration to create Cloud and operating system enhancements. You’ll maintain responsibility for activities related to system administration of an AWS Cloud infrastructure and ensure long-term requirements of systems operations and administration are included in the overall information systems planning and execution of the project. You’ll maintain responsibility for the setup and tear down of virtual machines installation, maintenance, configuration, and integrity of computer software. You’ll implement Cloud and operating system enhancements that will improve the reliability and performance of the system. Prerequisites

• Experience with AWS, CloudFormation, and Terraform
• Experience with Kubernetes, Linux, Docker, Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD), REST APIs, and networking concepts (HTTP, TLS, etc.)
• Knowledge of building, deploying, and securing microservices in a cloud environment (AWS) supported by DevSecOps principles
• Experience with public facing services such as DNS, Load Balancer, Internet Gateway, and Bastion Server
• Experience with Management Services such as Logging, Monitoring, Vulnerability Scanning, and Alerting
• Fundamental knowledge of building self-regulating software infrastructure that provide rapid, automated, and repeatable accountability for application environments, especially using Infrastructure as Code techniques
• Experience with integrating automation and DevSecOps
• Minimum of a B.S. degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field
• 3+ years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with database cluster administration (especially MariaDB and Postgres) and cloud automation and orchestration
• Experience with managed AWS services
• AWS certification
• Experience with cloud security, including DISA STIGs, DoD SRG, CVE, HTTPS, service mesh, and Kubernetes mTLS
• M.S. in computer science
