The maintenance mechanic works with various departments throughout the manufacturing environment to maintain, plan, and provide mechanical equipment maintenance to reduce delays, costs, and breakdowns.

Knowledge, Education and Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Fabrication and layout of special projects may be necessary in this role.

Mental and Physical Requirements:

Must be reliable with strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, sub-ordinates and management staff. Ability to gather and record necessary information, follow through with assigned tasks, identify problem areas, and take corrective action within a timely manner. Must be able to meet deadlines and work well under high pressure situations. This position performs in a warehouse and factory environment. It is subject to hot and cold temperatures; wet and or humid conditions; loud noises; moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; risk of electrical shock and vibration. This position may require working outside of normal business hours. Tolerance for repetitive work in a fast paced, high productive work environment. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time. Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and regularly lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Ability to differentiate colors and shades of colors. Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision and depth perception.
