Job Description
ORGANIZATION

RemeGen Biosciences is a biopharmaceutical company, focusing on the discovery and development of innovative medicines for the treatment of cancer and autoimmune diseases, based in South San Francisco, California, and Rockville, Maryland. POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Director of ADC R&D will collaborate closely with the ADC team in the parent company in China and the research team in the United States. This role entails spending at least 50% of the time at the parent company in China, overseeing the research activities of the ADC team. This position can be held remotely or on-site in the United States if the candidate lives close to the office. This position requires working on campus in China. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead the team to carry out the design and selection of ADC drug candidate molecules, including target and payload selection, conjugation method development and process development, in vitro evaluation and screening of payload-drug linkers, and design of in vivo efficacy studies.
  • Lead the team to develop state of art ADC conjugation technology platforms as well as  combination drug therapy. Tracking the progress of ADC conjugation technology.
  • Responsible for leading the implementation of the platform technologies using core ADC conjugation methods, including site-specific conjugations, conventional cystaine and lysine conjugations, thio-bridging conjugation, multiple-valent conjugations and etc.
  • Responsible for selecting drug candidates for combination with the company's ADC drugs and new ADC drug payloads, and establishing methods for evaluating the efficacy of drug combination applications.
  • Responsible for organizing the optimization of small-scale conjugation processes for the company's ADC drugs to provide a basis for downstream process development and production.
  • Responsible for organizing the cellular activity evaluations of ADC drugs, as well as organizing and preparing samples for the in vivo evaluations of company's ADC drugs.
  • Lead the team to undertake innovative work related to the conjugation and combination drug therapy of the company's ADC drugs, achieving the transformation of innovation into proprietary assets.
  • Oversee the maintenance and conditioning of laboratory instruments and equipment in the department, manage the laboratory operations effectively to ensure all  systems running smoothly..
  • Fully responsible for the EHS management work of the department. Report, review, and take corrective measures on EHS incidents that occur within the department in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for recruiting, training, and motivating talents within the department to build an outstanding team.

REQUIREMENTS
 Education:Educational background: Doctoral degree in Biology, Protein engineering, Biochemistry, Biophysics, Chemical Engineering, Pharmacy, or related fields. Candidates with overseas educational background or international work experience in major pharmaceutical companies are preferred.Experience:Work experience: Over 8 years of experience in new ADC drug research and team management in large and medium-sized biopharmaceutical companies, with the ability to independently design and advance ADC drug development projects, demonstrating extensive research experience and capabilities.Skills:
  • Familiar with industry research progress, able to grasp literature and patent details in the industry and keep up-to-date.
  • Strong learning ability and innovation consciousness, able to propose innovative targets and ADC conjugation research and development technologies.
  • Strong in execution and leadership, ability to coordinate and motivate teams, driving continuous improvement of team members.
  • Strong planning skills and a global perspective. Possess strong adaptability, able to keep pace with changes in business and management practices.
  • Bilingual Chinese required.

 Supervisory Responsibilities:None.
 Equipment To Be Used:Laptop computer, other office equipment, and/or lab equipment.
 Typical Physical Demands:Manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office equipment.
 Working Conditions:Works in a typical office setting. Occasionally called upon to work hours in excess of your normal daily schedule.
