This position is responsible for....

The Supervisor, Financial Reporting and General Ledger Accounting will apply US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) to maintain financial data related to the financial statements, the general ledger, and general accounting.S/he will manage at least one Senior Accountant based in any of the Breg US and Mexico locations.S/he may be involved with preparing and/or reviewing standard recurring entries, ad hoc entries as needed, running consolidation, and preparing and/or reviewing monthly account reconciliations.S/he will also perform analysis for management and provide deliverables to third parties, such as external auditors during the annual audit.

Your day will be very busy... you will:

  • Manages day-to-day accounting functions including fixed assets and prepaids, to drive operational efficiency across the organization.


  • Performs monthly close duties including preparing and/or reviewing standard and ad hoc journal entries related to assigned areas of responsibility, which could include revenue, billing accounts receivable, cash, inventory, equity, debt, intangibles, and leases. Prepares and reviews accurate general ledger account reconciliations and ensures that open items are resolved in a timely manner.


  • Collaborates cross-functionally with accounts receivable, accounts payable, IT, Finance, and other departments necessary in order to explain significant fluctuations or variances to forecast (when applicable) within tight deadlines.


  • Assists with maintenance of the monthly trial balances, financials, runs consolidation and prepares related journal entries, analysis, and communication to management. This involves becoming a subject matter expert on the General Ledger system and performing General Ledger maintenance including maintaining the company chart of accounts.


  • Manages the annual external audit and participates in preparation of the Audited Financial Statements, including Footnotes, in accordance with US GAAP.


  • Provides expertise in US GAAP, which involves mentoring staff, team members and other departments, and implementing improvements to internal controls.


  • Assesses staff and provides timely and consistent feedback regarding technical proficiency and effectiveness. Provides constructive feedback, guidance, and reinforcement to employees regarding job performance. Works with staff to identify work goals and create individual development plans. Evaluates training programs to ensure content meets staff needs.


  • Works on updating current processes and policies to be in compliance with new accounting guidance as needed.


  • Completes special projects as needed which may include M&A (Mergers and Acquisitions) integration.


  • Maintains related files and records in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.

What your background will be:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is required.
  • Active CPA license strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years financial reporting and General Ledger accounting experience is required.
  • 2+ years mentoring or supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP and SOX compliance is highly preferred.
  • M&A experience is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and technical skills are required.
  • Strong computerized accounting skills and advanced spreadsheet skills; proficiency in the use of Oracle or similar ERP system strongly preferred.

Salary Range

$100,000 - $115,000
