Position Summary: Probi USA seeks a Process Engineer to join our team at our Redmond, WA manufacturing site. The primary responsibility of this role is to lead and support personnel in achieving production and efficiency goals, resolving challenges, and implementing performance enhancements. The ideal candidate will possess a self-motivated drive for continuous process improvement and demonstrate effective leadership and collaboration skills in a regulated manufacturing environment.


Key Job Duties:

  • Lead and support projects aimed at improving probiotic manufacturing processes.
  • Facilitate the transition from small-scale Process Development to large-scale production equipment.
  • Identify, evaluate, select, install, qualify, and document process/equipment improvements for manufacturing efficiency, safety, quality, and compliance.
  • Provide technical troubleshooting support for daily production operations, ensuring adherence to performance metrics and quality standards.
  • Take ownership of equipment integration, process safety, environmental compliance, and equipment knowledge.
  • Initiate and implement improvement projects to enhance capacity, product quality, cost efficiency, emissions reduction, and process safety.
  • Optimize process parameters on various equipment types to maximize efficiency.
  • Assist in developing preventive maintenance procedures to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Acquire proficiency in operating a range of sanitary processing equipment.


Company Requirements:

  • Experience in regulated production environments (e.g., pharmaceuticals, dietary supplements, dairy, brewery, winery).
  • Ability to work safely around heavy equipment and lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Commitment to confidentiality, safety, and adherence to company policies.
  • Fluency in English, with strong communication skills.
  • Compliance with GMP, PPE, and safety protocols.
  • Excellent attendance record and ability to pass a background check.


Work Experience and Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, preferably in engineering, with 3-5+ years of experience; or associate degree with 5-10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams to achieve results.
  • Technical expertise in manufacturing processes and equipment, with familiarity in Design of Experiments, 6-Sigma, Quality By Design, and Tech Transfer.
  • Preferable experience in fermentation, brewing, food production, pharmaceutical/OTC manufacturing, blending, or bioprocessing.
  • Strong aptitude for rapid learning, safety consciousness, and process understanding.
  • Willingness to work under cGMP regulations and quality standards.
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements in food and nutritional supplement manufacturing.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with a willingness to embrace automation and controls.
