Plate Roll Operator

JOB SUMMARY
The Plate Roll Operator performs metalworking operations which shape and form sheet or other light metal into parts or products and is responsible for meeting daily production requirements. Operation and setup of plate rolls. Precise work according to design drawings, parts lists, and work orders. Quality responsibility for the manufactured parts. Working independently according to specifications.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following represents a list of essential duties and responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned or re-assigned as the Manufacturing Facility expands.
Set up and operate CNC plate rolls and other metalworking equipment such as shears, saws, drills, or profile benders to cut, bend, roll or otherwise shape and form metal stock into parts or products.
Rolling of cones of multiple sizes.
Check product quality for correct shapes, dimensions, and other specifications.
Examines, Inspects, and Measures Raw Materials and Finished Products to Verify Conformance to Specifications.
Sets Distance Points Between Rolls, Guides, Meters, and Stops, According to Specifications. Troubleshoot and perform corrective action or minor repairs on non-conforming parts.
Transport material to the work area manually or using an overhead crane or pallet jack.
Using barcode scanners for logging and moving material from location to location.
Provide timely information regarding problems in production that may adversely affect quality, or delivery time.
Read and understand manufacturing drawings in order to set up machines properly for the operation.
Remain constantly alert to detect improper part forming.
Troubleshoot general material issues as they arise.
Work as part of the team to share ideas and improve operations, recommending, supporting, and implementing continuous improvement activities and process and procedure improvements to optimize results and improve quality of delivery, in line with quality standards.
Undertake continuous training and development.
Perform routine maintenance on plate rolls and other machines.
Troubleshoot problems with machines and remedy as they arise.
Follows all safety policies and procedures.
Works to meet set goals agreed with by Machining and Fabrication Supervisor.
Other duties as set forth as set forth my the Machining and Fabrication Supervisor or Manufacturing Manager.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time position. Standard days and hours of work are Monday – Friday, 6am-2:30pm with a 30-minute lunch (this is subject to change).
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS
High school diploma or GED, or equivalent years of experience.
Descent computer skills.
Minimum 5 years working directly with plate rolling machines.
CNC programming experience of any fabrication equipment.
Overhead crane and rigging experience.
Use of hand & power tools along with hydraulic equipment.
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS
Some experience with profile bending.
Some experience with press brake machines.
CNC Plate Roll experience
4 roll rolling machine experience
Equipment Manufacturing background a plus
