Logistics Coordinator

Position Overview:

We are seeking an individual experienced with drayage (ports and rails), tracking SSL and Rail containers, qualified, skilled, self-sufficient, motivated, and a team player for the Logistics Coordinator position.

Role Description:

This is a full-time on-site role for a Logistics Coordinator at Hyssop Logistics Group located in Houston, TX. As a Logistics Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing the daily operations of logistics activities, including transportation, dispatching and tracing. You will collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure efficient and timely delivery of goods, manage shipments and logistics documentation, and optimize logistics processes.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• 24 months of previous brokerage-related or transportation-related experience preferred.

• Handling of international (import / export) containers related experience preferred.

• Previous experience in logistics, supply chain, or a related role
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
• Proficiency in logistics management software and tools
• Knowledge of import/export regulations and international shipping procedures
• Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment
• Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field (preferred)
• Certifications in logistics or supply chain management (preferred)

• Requires confidence & independent decision-making skills to problem-solve, juggle competing priorities, and provide accurate and responsive customer service.

• Ability to quickly assess client situations and escalate to management when needed.
• Required computer skills, proficiency with Windows operating system, MS Excel, MS Word, Outlook, and internet browsers. Able to learn new programs/systems quickly.
