Mechanical Engineer

1888 Industrial Services is looking for a dedicated Mechanical Engineer. Applications will be accepted until May 1, 2024.

Essential Functions

• Prepare basic and detailed conceptual engineering documents.
• Prepare the documents required according to the requests for requirements during the presentation of offers for the design, construction of equipment, assembly, pre- and commissioning and/or start-up.
• Create detailed designs of mechanical systems, components, and products, using computer-aided design (CAD) software and ensuring they meet performance requirements and technical specifications.
• Supervise preventive and corrective maintenance of equipment and mechanical systems, as well as identify improvement opportunities to increase operational efficiency and extend the useful life of equipment.
• Serve as support to prepare proposals for design, equipment construction, assembly, pre. and commissioning and/or start-up.
• During the development of basic and detailed engineering, you will be responsible, according to your specialty, for designing and approving to be presented to the client and once the design has been tested, it will be manufactured.
• Serve as support for all stages of manufacturing processes.
• Ensure that all designs and products comply with relevant standards and regulations, including safety, quality and environmental standards.
• Serve as support for the assembly, start-up and operation stages of the designed system.
• Plan and coordinate mechanical engineering projects, ensuring they are completed within the established budget and schedule, and regularly communicating progress to all interested parties.
• Report daily the activities carried out, recording the most relevant events of the day during the development of bidding processes or development of basic and detailed engineering of projects and when support is provided to the stages of assembly, equipment manufacturing, pre- and commissioning and commissioning. Progress of the project.
• Directly responsible under their specialty for the documents that are required in tenders and are entrusted for their development.
• Verify, ensure, and report to your direct boss any technical deviation that may affect the development of engineering, equipment manufacturing, assembly, pre- and commissioning and start-up of any bidding process and/or project in execution.
• The other functions that are assigned and those that are given due to the needs of the service, in accordance with the nature of the position.

Requirements

• Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards in the industry
• Engineering software, such as CAD (SolidWorks, AutoCAD), simulation software (ANSYS, MATLAB), and project management tools.
• Manufacturing and production processes, covering machining, welding, casting and other industrial techniques.
• Machine dynamics, which includes force analysis and dynamic behavior of rotors and mechanisms.
• Design of machines and components, including material selection, tolerances and fits, and manufacturing methods.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience preparing basic, conceptual, and detailed engineering documents, experience in design and development, experience in simulation.
• Having led or participated in mechanical engineering projects, with experience in planning, coordinating, and executing projects within established deadlines and budgets.
