Job Description

Position: Orthopedic Scrub Nurse

Specialties: Orthopedic Surgery, Trauma Surgery, Joint Replacement Surgery, Spine Surgery, Sports Medicine, Podiatric Surgery, etc.

Job Requirements:

Valid RN license and BLS certification.
Minimum 2 years of experience as a surgical nurse, preferably in orthopedic surgery.
Proficiency in surgical aseptic technique and sterile field maintenance.
Ability to anticipate surgeon's needs during procedures.
Knowledge of orthopedic surgical procedures and equipment.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

Prepare operating room and sterile instruments for orthopedic procedures.
Assist surgeons during surgeries by passing instruments and supplies.
Maintain sterile field integrity throughout the procedure.
Handle and care for orthopedic surgical instruments and implants.
Anticipate and fulfill surgeon's needs during surgeries.
Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure patient safety and quality care.
Document surgical procedures accurately and assist with patient positioning and prepping.
Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
