Job Description

Job purpose

The Injection  Injection Molding Tooling Specialist is a hands-on position that maintains injection molding tools to produce high quality injection molded products. He is responsible for coordinating the molding tool cleaning and maintenance efforts on all injection molding tools and assisting in problem solving and continuous process improvements. This position also mentors and provides training to other molding tooling personnel.

Main accountabilities and tasks

  1. Responsible for the operational readiness of injection molding tools and its peripherals (i.e. hot runner, cavity sensors, etc.).
  2. Responsible for cleaning injection molding tools and maintaining/documenting mold history.
  3. Responsible for managing the mold spare parts.
  4. Ensure that quality specifications are met.
  5. Demonstrated ability to disassemble and reassemble molding tools.
  6. Clean, maintain and test molding tools and its peripherals for production readiness.
  7. Support implementation of new injection molding tools and its peripherals.
  8. Support troubleshooting activities of injection molding tools and its peripherals.
  9. Independently carry out minor repairs and maintenance on the molding machines and peripherals.
  10. Work with vendors to resolve tooling issues.
  11. Maintain high quality standards through on-the-floor interaction with employees to ensure quality and accuracy in each step of the production process.
  12. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to operators and other molding personnel.
  13. Keep mold maintenance area and the entire production environment clean and organized.
  14. Ensure that all business activities conform to local laws and regulations and are following company policies and procedures.
  15. Ensure compliance with laws and regulations regarding environmental protection, fire prevention as well as occupational health and safety.
Qualifications

Work experience: 5 years in a injection molding manufacturing environment

Education: Technical degree and/or combination of education and work experience

Other:

  1. Experience in injection molds for thermoplastics and peripherals, such as hot runner systems, cavity pressure monitoring, etc.
  2. Self-starter must be able to work with little direction and with a high level of self-motivation
  3. Strong written and verbal communication skills
  4. Ability to work in an interruption-prone environment
  5. Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) 
  6. Strong TEAM mentality required
  7. Quality orientation and high attention to detail
  8. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  9. Commitment to workplace safety
  10. Ability to work Independently
  11. Must be able to work well with subordinates, peers and superiors in all departments
  12. Must be able to work well with external contacts of the Company
  13. Self-confident, trustworthy
