Field Testing Technician

In this position, the Field Testing Technician will be responsible for the performance of field testing throughout our office footprint in NC, SC, and VA. Field testing will mostly consist of water testing in accordance with ASTM and AAMA standards as part of QA/QC in new construction and in assisting the engineers with investigations of existing projects. Other testing such as air barriers, sealants, roofing, and some concrete will also be required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Perform field testing.
• Prepare field observation reports.
• Responsible for equipment management and coordination between office locations and service lines.
• Travel to job sites throughout NC, SC, and VA, frequently, including overnight periodically.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with desire to learn, take on new responsibilities and be a team player. Must have a strong work ethic and basic knowledge of construction practices, terminology, tools, and materials. Previous experience working in construction, building envelope, roofing and/or testing preferred.

Certifications and Licenses

Must have a valid driver's license with the ability to complete required OSHA training.

Computer and Software Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and the Internet. Familiarity with Bluebeam a plus.

Must be physically capable of working on a construction site, on scaffolds, at heights and in tight spaces with the aptitude to assemble and operate testing equipment.
